Do you wear nail polish on a daily basis? Why or why not?

Since I was a teenager, I have worn nail polish just about every single day. I keep my natural nails short, but I have long nail beds that give the illusion of length. My polish of choice is a pale pink that doesn't clash with anything.

I have a couple of friends who wear no polish (ever) and have pretty nails, but my nails just don't look good without polish. So I keep up the manicures, which I do myself.

What about you?

Sometimes. I'm currently in my nekked phase, and have been for almost 2 years now. I love it. I like the look, I like the ease, I like the time it saves me.

I am the same as you. I've done my nails all my life and feel totally unfinished without nail polish. Even when I had my gallbladder out, I asked if I could still wear my nail polish! They said it was okay as long as it was a light color! I love the pale pink shades on short nails and this is what I normally wear. I did the dark polish for a while but DH hated it! I think pale pink looks great with a tan. I'll leave my polish off just to let my nails "breathe" for a few hours but I never go out without doing them. Reva

I wear polish everyday, might be a day or so without it but usually I do have polish on.

My experience with nail polish, OPI, Essie, Debra Lipman, Chanel etc., is it only lasts a short time. Like 2 days. Then one chips and you need remove all the polish and start over. It's way TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE for me.

Nah, no polish for me.

I have nice nails. I take very good care of them myself.

But polish will not stay. Have never found a base coat that will keep polish on them for more than a day.

I've given up.

No. Hate the smell, only last a day, remover is drying, stains nails.

Always and I do it myself. Like other poster even asked if I could wear it when having surgeries.

No. I go in phases. I get my nails done at my salon-just a regular, ol, manicure, about 1x/month. Other than that week, I file and groom them myself and paint them, but not all the time. Sometimes I find that it's a PIA and I can never get them to look as perfect as my manicurist so I guess I say, Why bother? But I'm always happy with nicely painted nails.

I usually put it on once a year to remind myself that I don't like nail polish. The nails look so nice when polished, but it never lasts very long. After removing the polish, my nails split, break and look horrible for several weeks until I file them down very short and tend the cuticles, then they grow back nicely. I think it's a reaction to the base coat, polish and harsh remover. So my nails are plain!

I like the look of my nails when they are polished; however, that look only lasts for two or three days. I thought I would get better results if I spent more money on the polish. Nope. It doesn't seem to matter. I am wearing Deborah Lippman's polish that I put on yesterday. Already there are chips. I will be redoing my nails tonight while watching tv. I will be using a base coat and some of that glitter polish from the dollar store.

No, because I'm lazy. I never ever once saw my mother without nail polish, though, so you'd think I'd know better.

I only started doing my nails in the past two years, before that, I just kept them short with clear polish, as whenever I would get a mani, I would truly ruin it ,before I even arrived home! Then came GEL manicures!!!!!! Now, I get my nails done every two weeks, and you never have to worry about getting your wallet out, etc and ruining them! BEST invention ever, worth the price...Now I am so into getting funky manicures , never just plain, Saturday, I am getting a mani called the Kitchen Sink, every nail different design..it is fun, and I truly enjoy it! I do a mini pedi every month, but, regular polish

I always do toes, all year round - soft pinky-coral colors, nothing outlandish. But only buff fingers. I just prefer natural on hands.

No I have never been a polish wearer. First I am a piano player and a cook. Used to be a cowgirl! Second, it is too time consuming and third I just like the look of natural nails better. I have never been the polish type although I take good care of my hands and nails and how they look is important. I'm a short and well-groomed nail person.

Years ago I did. It was a lot of work to keep them up. Then about 10 years ago, I decided I hated the smell, the mess, and waste of time. So, I now just keep them natural, not too long. The older I get, 59 and now retired, the more I value my time. I want to spend my time on important things, not nail color, or coloring my roots to hide my white hair. I have white hair, I have natural nails, and that's OK! I do admire a woman with painted nails done nicely though!

Yes, I started using nail polish in 9th grade and have for the last 30 plus years except for a couple of times when I quit for about six months. I just feel prettier and more put together with polish......I like most colors in the pink, red, burgundy family and clear in the summer. Having my toes painted also make me happy!

Never. I have neither the patience or the interest to sit long enough to either do them or have them done. I do get a pedicure when it's sandal weather, but even then I rarely have them put polish on.

No, and for a variety of reasons. Mostly, I don't like the upkeep and I think it is harder (unhealthy) on my nails. I'd rather have natural, healthy nails than pretty colored nails, although I REALLY like the fun and prettiness of nail polish on people. Sometimes I think I want to start wearing polish more but then I remember the upkeep and decide not to. I love looking at nail polish on other people though!
