I agree! I'm so upset that many of the wonderful oil-based conditioners I've been using have stripped the dye from my hair.

I don't care how attractive the grey is, it still ages you.

I will keep my "natural" color forever or until I can't for some reason.

That said, this topic is always polarizing here. And although what he said may be technically true in general, it's a bit insulting or perhaps hurtful to those who do choose to embrace their gray hair.

I think everyone should do what they like best. When did it become a bad thing though to grow older? It became a bad thing when businesses found it's the most profitable thing ever to sell people on the idea that they can buy youth.

I was just this minute thinking about getting a wig in a color to see if I want to get rid of the gray.

I'm lucky in that I LOVE my gray -- it's a really pretty white -- and get lots of compliments on my "gorgeous hair". BUT, it's been thinning a lot lately and it's looking more like old lady thin gray hair that full and lush like it used to.

I DO know it ages me, though, which is why I'm thinking about a wig to see if I want to go back to a color.

I was going to post if anyone knew a line of cool looking, real looking wigs. Like the kind they use in Hollywood. Your post was very timely, colliegirls! Hmmmm...

The only thing I don't like about growing older (well, not the ONLY thing) is that inside I still feel young and vibrant and hip, but people see the wrinkles and white hair, and begin treating me like I used to treat my elderly neighbors. It's depressing.

I think its all about liking what you see in the mirror. We have to be happy with ourselves first. For those who are not satisfied with their look or think they look older than they feel, a fast way to try a change is to color one's hair, as Louis recommended. One good thing about hair color is that it is a quick and inexpensive way to change the way we look.

I'll never again look as young as I feel, since I still feel like I'm in my 20s! I lucked out with really great genes so wrinkles really aren't an issue for me and I'm 60. Something I've noticed for a very long time is how much a smile and/or a pleasant expression has the most impact on everyone. Have you watched people when you are out and about? Very few people smile or even look pleasant! I've made it my mission to always smile at least a little bit wherever I go, and I do notice that when I smile at people, most of them smile back and wow do they look better.
