Newbie Quest - When do you recommend buying?

As a less than 4 months Newbie, when do you recommend buying your products? When are the best times for specials to buy. I know someone had made a list of the different TSV's. Can someone push it so I can read it and get an idea? He has a show coming up soon. Should I buy now or wait till June. Everyone seems so excited about June. Is it really better to buy gallons?

The TSVs are the best deal if you like or want to try the extra products that come with them. The next TSV is March 15.

There are also OTOs (one time offers) but those are not all the time.

June is the month of gallons, which is a good deal if you are just looking for CC that you use the most of.

The TSV's are by far the best deal, OTO's are good too when available. I have learned to buy multiples on special deals, this way I have one to use and o e for backup. I started that last June. Also, I think June has an easy pay day, I think it's June 15, so that's a good day to get a few extras you may have not tried yet.

Annually there are usually three TSV's March, June and Sept.

March and Sept are usually a set with mulitple products and/or scents. June is the gallons.

The gallons are a good deal (even though you are spending almost $200 for it) if you find a CC that you are really going to use all the time.

I have never bought the gallon - I am too fickle changing scents with my mood (my hairs mood) or the seasons.

I have regularly bought in to the Sept TSV - which has usually been a core CC (FIG, LAV, SAM, CA, POM, TT) in a 32 oz bottle, plus another core product (last year it was oil, the year before it was the remoist), plus a 16 ounce seasonal CC. In 2014, it also included an RTM of the seasonal scent.

March for the last two years has featured 613, and since I have managed to resist, I don't remember what was in it last year. This year it's 4 products, two are core scent and two are 613 (a CC and an SC).

In November/December there tend to be a lot of gift sets..there were so many last year I couldn't begin to list them all. These range in price from $40 - $100 (there was an ultimate set that had a full size of every hair product in the POM scent)

And every so often there are travel or introductory sets with have an array of different products all in the same scent (I think one I purchases had travel packs, oil, mousse and RTM).

It really depends on how you use WEN. If you like a lot of variety, trying all the scents, buying all the seasonals, then buying by the gallon may not be better. If you have just one or two that work best for you, the gallons possibly are better. I like to change it up and use different scents, as well as the seasonals. I also use Fig almost every time I cleanse and Tea Tree more than others. Last June I got two gallons, Fig and Tea Tree. I had a lot of seasonal and set 32 and 16 ounce bottles in my closet. By December, when the second gallons shipped, I still had half a gallon of Fig and I hadn't even opened my Tea Tree gallon. I canceled the second Tea Tree gallon. If I finish my first gallon by June, I may order the Fig gallon again, but I could easily do without it, too.

Based on my own WEN habits, two gallons of WEN would probably get me through two years because of how I combine it with seasonals and the TSVs. I may order the gallons on AD every other year to get the value and the savings on shipping.

I would recommend waiting before you decide and really looking at how you like to use your WEN, how much you go through each month, and then decide if a gallon is the best thing for you.

If you have room in your shower and just like one or two formulas above all others then I would buy the gallon. I am a scent junkie so I doubt I will buy another gallon, the pump is really nice, but it is an extra hassle on the inevitable day that you reach the no pump zone.

I would get the TSV if you want to try 613, then you could either try a another new scent or stock up on one you like. For my hair I would need about 4 gallons to last me a year I think, takes up way too much space! I also like the pretty bottles in the shower caddy. What a nerd.

Hi OP ! I think that it all depends on what you want,but no matter what: a TSV, OTO, or June Gallon is the best time to get your WEN .

If all you really want is the Cleansing Conditioner and you like variety , then the Dec TSV's are the best value.

The Gallon is the 2nd best price per ounce if you think that you have 1 Cleanser that you want to stick with exclusively.

The other TSV's (like the one later this month) are also good deals if you want to try a little of everything.

Wen TSVs going back to December 2010 -- items in TSV kits and prices

theatrebiz gave a great overview to the Wen TSVs & special offers.

I've done the calculations on it before and the price per ounce for the Cleansing Conditioner *components* (not including the cost of the accessory components such as styling creme or replenishing treatment mist) of the Spring, Fall & December Wen TSVs all compare favorably with the price per ounce of the Wen June Gallons.

The caveat is that you have to want to use all the varied CC scents in these TSVs. Currently the CC mixes in the TSVs seem to be as follow:

* Spring TSV - 32 oz. core CC & 16 oz. 613 CC

* Fall TSV - 32 oz. core CC & 16 oz. Seasonal (soy-based) CC

* December TSV - (5) 16 oz. soy-based CCs (POM & 4 Seasonals)

Sorry for my late reply, but I just read your question. And there's no offense taken. It's a reasonable question.

I love Wen and wouldn't think of using anything else for my hair... but it is pricey. So I needed to work out a strategy to get the most out of my Wen dollars.

At some point, I realized that the Wen Spring TSV always seemed to include a core 32oz. CC and a 6oz. SC and I wondered if there were other reoccurring patterns for Wen TSVs. I checked my online purchase history at qvc.com and realized there was a pattern to Wen TSVs. Since I had purchased every Wen TSV since December 2010, it was easy to make up a list of all of them. Then I just compared the annual seasonal offerings and was able to see which core products were always offered each seasonal TSV.

Initially I just put the list together for myself so that I could maximize my Wen purchasing power. Then I posted it to this forum to help everyone get the best bang out of their Wen bucks. It took a few hours to initially put it all together. Updating the information is really easy to do.

Because of the TSV information I put together, I've saved at least 50% on what I otherwise would have spent on Wen products. So, from my perspective, putting this list together was a great use of my time. I also don't have to wonder about what products are going to be in upcoming TSVs because the Wen TSV patterns are so predictable. That just makes life a bit easier... and I'm all for that!!!
