I won a basket raffle prize last night/basket filled with Mary Kay products...no makeup, just cleansers, moisturizers, makeup remover, night serum, shower gel, hand lotion..like that. what are your fav Mary Kay products, I have a feeling I'm gonna like this line! beanie

Congratulations on your win. Personally, I used their products in the past and they did not agree with my skin. Since that time, they have started to allow testing on animals, so there's no way that I would consider any of their products.

I haven't used Mary Kay in years, but I remember liking the TimeWise moisturizer, the Satin Lips set (scrub, lip balm) and the Satin Hands Pampering Set (Scrub, softener balm to use with scrub, and a hand cream).

I love the satin hands set. Satin lips is good too.

I had a bad reaction to MK about 2yrs ago. My neighbor is a director and we swapped some Mary Kay for my Thirty-One products and it was BAD... I felt like my face was on fire... I got some bad breakouts too.

I hope it works for you, it has a cult following.

HisElk, Mary Kay does not test on animals. I have been a Mary Kay Consultant for 25 years and I love the products and I love the business. I love the business because I will always have an income no matter what happens in my life and you can work when you want.

beanie, you may want to call the consultant that did the basket and get together with her. She will help you with products based on your needs and skin tone.

I had a couple of eyeliner pencils in various shades that I really loved, but sadly they discontinued them. Every so often I order their eyebrow gel which I also like. I tried their eyelash product (their version of Latisse) and it did nothing for my lashes, but I'm using it up on my brows.

While Mary Kay is technically correct in its assertion that it does not conduct animal testing, what it really means is that it does not conduct the tests itself. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) reports that Mary Kay instead contracts out to the Chinese government to do the tests that are legally required in China.

Thank you, wowee. I should have noted that in my original post. It's a shame that this is happening and I won't support it.

About 30 years ago I purchased the 5 piece skin care collection and it was ok. I can't wear Mary Kay make up because it makes me break out.

I used the lash/brow product, and it really worked on my brows! It took a while, but I definetely had new growth. Personally, I wouldn't refer to them as a "cult", nor have I ever been pressured into becoming a sales person.

My one & only experience with Mary Kay cost me my facial skin for a week & $90.00 for Dr & rx for my skin...never again...never had allergies of any type before or since..

I have a friend who is a MK director, so hard sell all of the way. Once I got past the meetings and all of the hoopla, I found that the skincare products I used all broke me out. I was able to use their eyeliners and eyeshadows, though. BUT... and this made me stop using their products altogether - they are forever changing up their product lines and doing away with colors and types of makeup that I liked. It was so irritating to try to order something that I'd used up only to find that it had been replaced by something else that was not acceptable to me. I finally told her the reason I stopped buying, and she told me they had to keep the line fresh, so that's why they were always changing things.

OK, off my soapbox now about MK! LOL

If you can get past the "this is my grandma's make up line" stigma, the products are really pretty good. They have the only eye make up remover that I will use and I love their timewise cleanser. Their lipsticks and glosses are nice and I have tried a handful of their other products and have not been disappointed.

If you can keep an open mind that they are a progressive company, you will enjoy the products much more. Just need to get past the pink caddy idea.

Just try your products a little a long. My sister has the most sensitive skin of anyone I've ever known and she loves Mary Kay.....sold it for a while once she realized it worked for her. They do have some beautiful products and I think you will enjoy using them.

I loved Mary Kay products for years! But in 2012 they quietly reinstated animal testing so I can no longer buy/use it. Can't believe they would go backwards

I like the time wise bar soap for face use it daily.

time wise eye cream (firming eye pump).

the eye shadows are OK blush is same OK use every now then.

I have sold Mary Kay in the past and think they have great products. I don't use only MK now, but their moisturizers are wonderful as are the oil free hydrating cream, eye creams and serums for day and night.
