My son does it all wrong!

My son's fiancee has taken to Wen beautifully. BUT when I sent some home with my son (they live in different cities ) after Christmas, I gave him strict instructions. And he said, "OR... you can just wash your hair with it." And I suspect that's what he's doing (i.e. treating it like POO!!). So my question is "Is it doing him enough good, used in this sacrilegious manner, that it 's still worthwhile to use Wen?"

Men will always do what they want. If it works for him, then let it be. He is getting married and it will be his future wife's option to comment. Time to let your baby boy grow up and learn from his own mistakes (and I'm not talking just about Wen).

Interesting post. My mother stopped caring about how I washed my hair once I was out of the house & no longer consuming what she & my dad paid for.

Guys! I promise I'm not asking for permission to yell at my son! I'm really interested in whether people think Wen is worth using even if you're using it WRONG (not enough product, not enough rinsing, no repeat, hot water, etc.).

To answer your question of is "it worth it" - the answer is yes. Even if you're using it as conditioner alone, you will still obtain some benefit. That being said, you're probably undoing the benefit somewhat if you are using shampoo again the next day, so it's still best to use Wen as it is intended.

How do you define "going him enough good?" If it's getting his hair clean, I'm sure that's doing him as much good as he cares about.

Frankly, I pretty much share his attitude. People worry to much about the "process." Just wash your hair and if you like the results, it's working. I stopped using shampoo long before I started using WEN and conditioner only washing was never as big a deal as the whole WEN rigmarole is, even though it's the same thing.

If his hair is clean, he's not doing it "wrong."

If my MIL asked my GROWN HUSBAND what his "POO" or "WEN" method is, honestly I'd block her #. And her e-mail.

FYI. My husband uses Wen and so does 1 of my sons. I may have told them to wash and rinse twice but their response would be the same as your son's response. They wash their hair once and probably don't use the correct amount of Wen (as is the case with many women on this forum but it works for them).

In response to your recent comment, I don't think you understand. You shouldn't be concerned with how your son uses Wen. Are you planning on buying him Wen for a certain amount of time? Don't buy him Wen. Let him buy it himself. Who knows, maybe his way works best for him. There is obviously different processes that people use with Wen. Different folks, different strokes.

Were you with him when he proposed to his girlfriend? Did he propose correctly?

Cut the strings.

If his method works for him it is not "wrong"!! Don't worry about him, he is a big boy now and can take care of himself. If he doesn't like how it is working perhaps he will ask you about it but it is nothing to spend any time worrying/stressing over.

I'm not a guy, but I use Wen "wrong". I only do one cleanse most of the time--half the pumps, froth it up, let it sit for the rest of my shower--rarely rinse with cool water, and recently quit using it as a leave-in (just put in some styling crème). My hair is looking better every day!

So, yes, if he's happy with the results however he's using it, it's worth it!

it always amazes me how people on this board and the Wen (and Chaz's) Facebook page can get so uptight about a simple question and/or comment. I made a simple comment on someone's post about 2 years ago on one of the Facebook pages and people freaked out (they had obviously read WAAAAAYYYYY more into it and made it into something it wasn't); it was ridiculous and i couldn't help but wonder how incredulously judgmental they must be like offline too. not everybody on the boards and Facebook are like that of course but geez, some people seriously need to get off their holier than though high horses and get a grip.

My son tried Wen and I'm sure he used it in the same manly fashion as your son did. But he noticed his hair felt greasy and stopped using it. If your son uses it and likes it, then let him finish the bottle and see if he asks for more? In my opinion, it doesn't matter if the product is used wrong- what matters is what makes you feel good.

Otherwise, let him buy his own shampoo next time.

It sounds like you have a great relationship with your son that includes lovable humor. Lots of sucessful Wenners have their own way to use Wen, so if he is happy and his hair looks good, no need to worry. You could always roll your eyes at his sacrilegious Wen usage;-). And if your son doesn't like Wen, then your soon-to-be daughter-in-law will be gifted more Wen!
