Reviews on items not yet available?

Does anyone else feel the same as I do that all of the reviews on BE Bareskin serum foundation, to date (pre-shipment date), are totally useless? QVC's first guideline for writing a review is to TRY the product. I have written to QVC's suggestion box stating that reviews should not be allowed to post if the item hasn't even been available for shipment. Every review is a statement of what people feel about the idea of BE's "liquid" foundation. A review should be based on trying the product. If you want to question the concept, do it on the boards, not the review.

That being said, I love BE Mineral loose foundation, and I like the Ready. I am NOT anti BE, or pro loose, but I do see the conflict of the serum foundation, since the former CEO of the company bad mouthed liquids, in general, for years. I do understand that BE cut a lot of customers out of their base by not having a liquid, and this may be attempt to pull them in. I think Leslie was trying to convey that. I don't have a problem with that. But I did watch the presentation and, in my opinion, a lot of back peddling was going on. Change can be good, and, strictly from the marketing point of view, I don't think it's a bad idea to have "something for everyone" as best as a company can. Those who are happy with loose, will stay with loose. Those who are happy with liquid, now can try BE!

But, please, try the product before reviewing to be fair!

I don't think they should post reviews if the person hasn't actually used the product for at least a week or two. I don't think this item has even shipped yet.

I too was wondering about products being reviewed when the item has not been released. it is almost like plants.

who did get 1st dibs on this product, was it a random drawing?? I do know many years ago, I got into a test research facility when I was living in the Midwest. I was given products to use for how ever many days they told me to use it and then I was to call a telephone number to give my results and feeling about said product I was testing. This may be the way they are doing the random testing.

I did pre order 2 colors not sure which one will work for me. That is the only down side, you have to make a good guess to make sure the color will be correct for you.

I haven't posted here in ages but I got an e-mail announcing the new liquid foundation and so I decided to check it out. Then I saw all these reviews from people who hadn't even TRIED it yet! What the heck is the point of posting a review of something you haven't even tried yet?? I agree. Useless.

I have, and I hope you will too report these reviews as inappropriate. When it asks why you find it inappropriate state they have not tried the product. Hopefully all the false reviews will be deleted.

I totally agree. The Q should not permit people to post reviews unless they have used the product. Because they do allow it the ratings are very deceiving. Shame on QVC for allowing this.

Some of the reviewers had only one post, odd, I reported them inappropriate and explained why.

I agree...whomever is in charge of the reviews needs to wipe out all of the comments.

I haven't looked at the reviews yet. I can say that I will look at them and I will report it too.... It burns me up to know that people are doing this because I and like all of you make a choice to purchase based on the ratings and reviews!! Just awful!

I used to work for Sephora, it was the kind inside JCPenney and the testers are on the way, maybe that is how they tried the new foundation. I am sure some of the stores have the testers by now as when I had monthly meetings about new launches the testers were always available first, so, will let you know if I come into contact with it. I ordered the new bronzer and am getting it delivered tomorrow, I love my UPS guy!!!!

I agree, it makes the whole review process a joke. Here is another thing, I purchased a handbag and posted a glowing review because I really liked it. A week later it broke in two places while I was on the vacation I purchased it for. The Q refunded when I sent it back but when I went to change my review in order to warn people I found that I couldn't change my review so there it is to this day!

I haven't bothered to post a review since.

I agree, these people are not posting reviews of the product, because no one's tried it yet, they're posting their opinion of BE, and of BE having a liquid foundation. Their "reviews" are totally useless, and they look ignorant for posting.

Also they're wasting their review, since they can't edit it once it's posted.

I left a review saying that the types of "reviews" being left should NOT be allowed as the product doesn't even ship until April. I went on to say that the whole purpose of a "review" is to help other consumers and give them honest feedback on a product. I said that at HSN, you can not leave a "review" on a product you haven't bought and you have to wait for 2 weeks after the product is delivered to place a review. This is the way it should be!! Well ladies, the QVC police did not print my "review" of the "reviews". I am VERY disgusted with the pathetic presentation of this product that Leslie and Lisa did. It was actually painful to watch them stumble all over themselves trying to convince us that this is a great product. I believe Leslie even said, "I never likes liquid foundation and I still don't!" This may very well may be a wonderful product, although you would never guess that from their presentation of it, but it's ubsurd to be allowed to review a product that you haven't even tried yet! Maybe instead of deleting the posts on this board and watching what we post like Big Brother, they should do the same with the customer reviews?? IMO ALL reviews for that product should be removed! If you are excited to try this product, then post it here NOT under reviews! Maybe QVC needs to look the word REVIEW up so they know what belongs and what does not! Just sayin.... I am ready to leave QVC as a customer and I spend a ton of money here! I am tired of the "politics" here!!!

I have reported than as inappropriate and explained why. At the bottom of the page where you leave an explanation it states "Reports are typically addressed within 72 hours, pending approval." It has been well over 72 hours since I reported the reviews as inappropriate. Yet I do not notice that it did any good.
