Questions about the BE liquid foundations

Is the Buxom Show Some Skin the equivalent of the BE Bare Skin serum foundation? Are there 2 different ones because BE and Buxom are considered 2 different lines now? Does Sephora own all of Buxom products, or does Sephora just own Buxom glosses?

Bare Escentuals owns and manufactures both bareMinerals and Buxom; the Buxom line is carried/sold exclusively by Sephora.

bareMinerals items and bareSkin (serum foundation) are natural, mineral based products which are designed to be "good" for your skin.

The Buxom line is standard cosmetics, well made, but not considered "natural" or intended to be skin improvement products.

You are correct that they are entirely different product lines.

The two foundations are in no way equivalent products as can be seen in both the ingredient list and the item descriptions.

Thank You! So, we won't be seeing any Buxom items on Q anymore, just BE. If we want Buxom gloss we go to Sephora. If we want Buxom mascara or eyeliner or something else, we look around to Ulta, Sephora or elsewhere? Do the BE boutiques and websites carry any Buxom at all, or was the Buxom name and line divided off from BE and sent to other companies?

NO! Bare Escentuals DOES NOT own Bare Minerals, Buxom, etc. Bare Minerals was SOLD to Shisheido, a Japanese company. Leslie Bodgett in NO LONGER the CEO of Bare Minerals and this new company now owns and operates Bare Minerals and it's subsidiaries. Thus the reason for the "serum" foundation launch!

The Buxom line of cosmetics is now carried/sold exclusively by Sephora, and only Sephora. You can look at Buxom items on the Bare Escentuals website, but every one indicates that you have to go to the Sephora website (or store) for purchase.

Go look up the sale in the New York Times or the Wall Street. According to the article that I read, all subsidiaries went with it. BAre Minerlas created the Buxom line strictly for Sephora, therefore, would only make sense that that account would be under Bare Minerals and be sold along with the company. Look up the acquisitions in both newpapers. I STAND BY WHAT I JUST SAID!!!!!

I am extremely fair, what shade would I wear if decided to buy this?

I wear loose regular foundation in fair.

Of course! Eventually there will be a shade offered by BE called Bare Porcelain, which will be the palest. If you are happy with Loose Fair, the palest shade available here at QVC with the brush combo is Bare Shell, which might be roughly equivalent to Fairly Medium in loose, so if you could wear a slightly pinker version of Fair, Shell might work.

Jessica and Leslie have said that these new bareSkin were not designed to be equivalent to the loose shades, but the three palest coolest tones available in both are, and thus the best recommendation we can make (without testing the shades in person) if you are sure that you have cool pink/blue undertones:

Fair - Bare Porcelain

Fairly Medium - Bare Shell

Medium - Bare Satin

I definitely need the porcelain.

My skin is so good I could be a BE model.

It is just that lovely since I stopped everything plus medications that were irritating it and all other skin care!
