Perfume - What's a yummy scent that has no hard edges, not sickening sweet....

that your significant other can nuzzle up to you and say, boy you smell so delicious!!! Or, you child or grandchild, can say, mommy or nana ---- I love the way you smell.

I'm looking for a scent that is more of a whisper, not a scream!!!! Something that floats softly and is rather like a dream!!!

Is there such a thing???

If you have a suggestion, please post and say why!!!!

On the Steve Martin quote!!! I think that it sounds like you are des Irving a Philosophy fragrance.I used to wear only Pure Grace or Falling in Love;and my sister wears only Amazing Grace.The newest one that just came out smells nice.July has the small bottles for $16.99.Also you might like the origional Tova.It is really subtle but clean and gets the "" you smell good"" too.My mom wears it alot. Philosophy is ...for up close only...great. I think I can't smell it but when I hug someone they always say I smell so clean. So many perfumes just are so loud. That's gross.

I love Pink Sugar. I have allergies and get headaches, and I can wear this. Some people find it to strong, I am not one of them. I also like Angel, but that is VERY strong. It is hands down the scent I get the most compliments on.

I think fragrance is very personal. I also think it depends o your body chemistry. You would be best to go to Macy's, Carson's, Ulta or Sephora and test some out.

A favorite of mine is ""Burberry for Women"". It is a nice soft warm huggable scent with some sweetness but not the sickening kind.

it doesn't set my allergies off like most perfumes.

My favorite of all time is Bvlgari (Bulgari) Green Tea. It smells like tea and oranges and some say that is a unisex fragrance. ALL other fragrances are too strong and give me a headache. I have been wearing Green Tea for over 40 years. I never tire of it. I have tried others, but I ALWAYS go back to Bvlgari Green Tea!

I love Amazing Grace and Vera Wang Princess. Princess is a grown-up scent. Pretty but not overpowering.

Prada Candy or Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme....both are delightful ...oh, and Trish McEvoy #9 is a great one too w/ a hint of sweetness but not "too sweet".

Marilyn Miglin's Destiny is a longstanding favorite of mine. It's nice floral scent without being overpowering or offensively strong. I mentioned Thierry Mugler's Alien in another thread (my new favorite). I find this one being a very nice scent for daytime as well as nighttime.

I've been enjoying Philosophy's Fresh Cream. I have it in the fragrance spray and 3-in-1 bubble bath. The only problem is that QVC is the only place where I can find it. Hope this doesn't mean that Philosophy is going to discontinue it!

I've never heard of this, but I'll look for it.

My favorite is Jo Malone's Lime, Basil & Mandarin.

Right now I like sweet scents so the two I've been alternating with are Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme and Hanae Mori Butterfly EDR. Both are wonderful.

Nordstrom - Jo Malone (read reviews to choose fragrance), Kiehl's ( original musk), HauteLook has a sale on two fragrances today. I have orange lycée by Kiehl's but original musk is my favorite.

I am a big fan of vanilla - but I like the pure vanilla not sickly sweet ones.

I reallly like the LaVanilla scents. They have several scents that have a vanilla base mixed with other very natural non-sweet scents like lavandar and grapefruit.

You should try some of the Bath and Bodyworks fragrance sprays. They are not too strong or perfumy. There are a few yummy scents I can think of...Paris Amore , Be Enchanted and Dark Kiss.

My all time fav is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (CCM). Its great on everyone I've ever come accross that wears it and I love it on myself as well. I always get compliments from friends and strangers that always tell me how good I smell. Never ask me what I am wearing...unless they are interested in getting it themselves. I usually wear Amazing Grace lotion, then layer on one squirt of CCM and its just is that signature smell. LOVE IT!

Bvlgari Mon Jasmine Noir L'eau Exquise. It's a light, clean and airy scent that's more suited for daytime.
