A few weeks ago I found the perfect spot for my collection of oils, well I thought it was the perfect spot. Today when I went to check inventory all my bottles were fine they are sealed except for three, everyone was fine except for my bottle of cucumber aloe that is. Fall apple fine, tea tree fine but the cucumber has changed color and seems thick. I don't know if it somehow got cold but why didn't it happen to any of the other open bottles? I was just about to order my Cranberry mint and now I'm unsure. The cucumber is just as old as all the others. Now I'm worried about the bottles of POM I have still boxed and really didn't want to open them. All my oils except the boxed ones I stashed in my vanity in the basement and it is heated down there so I really don't know what to make of it.

Beaches, I don't know how cold your CA oil got but it sounds similar to a LAV oil that was shipped to me in November and sat on my porch that afternoon. It was thick and yellow when it arrived. I presumed it was old stock and had gone bad. The next day I was going to call customer service about it, but it had changed to the normal color and consistency after being inside overnight. I hope yours returns to how should be

I know about it being liquid gold and I'm so luck I've been able to make a nice collection.
Just following up with you girls, I brought the oil up and let it sit for awhile. It still looked heavy or clouded so I broke the seal and it looks okay in the dropper. It's still a mystery why it only happened to this one. I'm going ahead with the WCM purchase anyhow.

Beachy, I had that happen too with the bigger size Fig I bought. I'd used it about 3/4 of the way, and one day noticed it looked a bit thick and cloudy--kinda not the same color as it had been. I had that happen too with the remains of a bottle of LAV too... They smelled fine so I've been using them no problem...I don't now that color is a good indicator of if it's gone bad or not... I do know when they go bad, they get an unforgettable funky smell I had that happen with a bottle of WVM I bought off the Bay...It looked ok, but it had the beginnings of that funky rancid smell. I called Chaz's CS and the codes on the bottle said it had another year of life left in it...but it smelled funky so I threw it out.

I'd just go by what your nose thinks lol...if it smells ok still, it should be fine.

HTH

I'm concerned that maybe it isn't a good idea to keep too much on hand though. Chaz says two year shelf life but we don't really know when it was produced and how long it could have been sitting. I have a nice collection of 4 oz now and planned on purchasing new ones to replace The ones I use. How many do you "stock" and what our your thoughts.

Beaches, it sounds like it went rancid. That happens with oils, regardless of the expiration date. You should get a replacement.

Well this thread just became relevant to me and did not want to start a new one with a question.

So yesterday I went to use my WVM Oil that I purchased last year- does anyone know what the true color of this is?? Mine has a yellow tint to it and I really don't remember it being that color - so wondering if it indeed it turned on me? It still smells okay but just curious....

I have been using my WCM and FAS and of course TT- so kind of forgot about this one. Just making me rethink my purchase of the new SOB Oil that I definitely wanted- like maybe I should just use what I have first before they turn as well- if that is indeed what happened to my WVM. So does anyone know???
