I called CS, and they said that it's an excluded brand -- no discount.

Did you get 20 percent off when you bought it?

yes, I did. Originally I put JUST the bha foam in my cart and tried the discount and it took it off. Usually when a brand is excluded, it actually says that on the product page and I noticed it did NOT say that on the Paula's choice products this time, although I KNOW it said it before. My total before the discount (and no taxes or shipping) was $78 and included TWO Paula's Choice products. The discount came to $15.60, which is 20% off the total amount.

Suzy, I just now tried to do a mock order using just a PC product and now I see this at the top of the screen "The promotion code you have entered is valid but cannot be applied to any products in your order. I remember getting that same error in the past when I tried with other discount codes and tried to order PC products. Hmmmm

Question About BHA

Hi beauties - I have been wanting to incorporate BHA into my routine for a while, after reading about its effectiveness for oily skin and large pores. My main question is: do you have to work up to a certain percentage of BHA, or the amount of times you use it per week, similar to the way you would with Retin-A? And secondly, do you have any recommendations for a BHA product for a new user with large pores and combo/oily skin - what percentage, etc? TIA! :-)

I think it is always wise to start out with a low percentage. I should think you could use it daily without concern There are others out there (I found some at Wegman's), but PC has a 1% and 2%. With oily skin, I think you would find the 2% more effective.

I have sensitive skin and don't find BHA as irritating as AHAs or retinoids. That said, everyone is different. I started with 1%, then moved onto 2% pretty quickly and I find it more effective for my pore issues. I'm using a 4% once a week.

I agree with cassiem, I don't really find the BHA nearly as irritating as the AHAs were. I truly do not think you have to build up to a higher strength with BHA like I'd recommend for AHAs. I thin you'd be fine with the 2% or 4%. I'd recommend Paula's Choice BHAs, the liquid or lotion (liquid is a recommended for the oilier skins) but her new 4% foaming one is getting RAVE reviews so I'd definitely give that one a serious consideration. It sounds like a really nice formula and gentle.

Thank you ladies. I don't always have sensitive skin but Retin-A was rather strong for me so I changed to retinol and had much better results. So, it's good to know BHA is less irritating than AHA's. I appreciate your help. I've never used either Paula's Choice or Isomers, but I will check them out!

On 2/17/2014 suzyQ3 said:
On 2/17/2014 HappyDaze said:
On 2/17/2014 suzyQ3 said:
HappyDaze, I just went to see what my total would be on Dermstore if I added PC's body BHA product, and my discount with the promo code didn't change.

To learn about our excluded brands click here." So it appears perhaps I got lucky and they weren't suppose to include PCs products! I remember getting that same error in the past when I tried with other discount codes and tried to order PC products. Hmmmm

You did indeed get lucky. So you bought both the foam and the body treatment? How do you think you're going to use them? Maybe the body one everyday and the foam less often?

Did you manage to get the foam before it went on backorder?

Suzy, jumping in, I have both the PC 4% foam and 2% lotion. I use the 2% 5 days a week and the 4% twice a week. I love the foam! It absorbs quickly and completely, and has really helped clear out my pores. The results are better than the 2% alone. I wish she'd make the 2% in a foam, too. Also, I have some samples of the weightless body treatment, I'm going to try them on my face and see how it goes, thanks for the tip.

HD: I know. But I got the 20% off too after I saw your post. Mad too, bcuz it was not on backorder when I put it in my cart, but I was browsing and when I went to checkout it was gone. UGH. But I was still able to order. Now it says sign up to be notified when it is back in stock.
