I have the following Hourglass items:

Ambient Lighting in Dim - love as a finishing powder

Ambient Lighting in Diffused (I like Dim better for my coloring)

Mineral Veil Primer - very nice if you prefer a lotion type primer rather than silicone or pore filling

Opaque Rouge Lipstick - drying, never use

Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation - great in the summer for my oily skin

Illusion Tinted Moisturizer - one of my favorite foundations, even though it is a Tinted Moisturizer it has more coverage than most foundation, beautiful finish, long lasting

Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo - excellent but not sure it's worth the price, I have the Suede duo and if you like lighter neutrals this is a stunning duo.

I bought three of the Ambient Lighting Blushes. I'm returning two, Flush and Heat, and keeping the Magenta. The Flush and Heat are very similar and nothing outstanding about the color or finish.

The winners for me are the Ambient Lighting in Dim and the Illusion Tinted Moisturizer. If you have oily skin, the Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation is a winner, too.

I haven't tried those yet, but I do have the Femme rouge lipstick in the color called Whisper and I really do like it. It is very moisturizing on my lips

I have had HourGlass Dim Ambient "powder" for a month or so and it is fabulous! It is one of those items that makes me think, "wow", this stuff is truly fantastic . So very light, completely simple to use, it leaves a wonderful omph to my face. This stuff is worth every cent. Much better than Halo or similar products.

I have some ambient lighting powders and really enjoy them. I don't know if I would repurchase when they are gone or not, but I do enjoy them. I also purchase a new ambient blush and it is definitely nothing special. I like Tarte blushes better, actually, for about $10 less. I have also tried a serum primer, primer and lip product that is like a stain, but looks like it would be a gloss. The serum primer was ok, but I didn't exactly "get it". The primer smells like menthol and I didn't really like it. I actually prefer the silicone type primers, and the scent was irritating. The lip product will last for days, I think and had a nice color, and the feel was interesting. I don't think I'd repurchase that either, but I recently saw Milani has a similar looking product out, in ver similar packaging, so I might try that to see if they are indeed similar. All in all, I have heard good things about their foundation, which I have not tried and I am enjoying the powders, but it is an expensive brand and I'm not sure it's worth all the hype it's getting. Eta: I did find the lip product/stain to be very drying as well.

I just got home from traveling for a week. I forgot to pack my foundation brush. I had the Immaculate liquid to powder foundation with me, and just smooshed it between my hands like moisturizer and applied to my face. OMGosh it gave such a nice "your skin but better" finish. Will never use a brush with this foundation again.

I have the yellow shade and there is no shimmer, it just kind of diffuses the skin, if that makes sense, just a finely killed powder. I also have the palette that came out for holiday. There is a soft beige powder that has a soft (very soft) glow, a med bronzer shade on my fair skin which has a little more "glow" but still not really shimmer and a highlight that is exclusive which has a little more shimmer/glow. They are all different and need to be tested, I think. There is a more luminous shade with a similar name that looks to be very shimmery. Also a whitefish shade which has more of that iridescent quality to it. Oh and the pink shade, mood, almost appears to be a matte blush when I swatched it. I actually passed on that and bought the new corresponding blush shade, which is pretty but not glowy at all. Hope this all helps a little bit! blockquote>On 2/13/2014 MarenSeattle said:
RE: Ambient Powder ~~ Does "subtle shimmer" mean frosty-ish?
