If your skin is oily, try just splashing water on your face in the morning and use a toner or such afterwards. If you go to bed with a clean face, no need to over wash in the morning with more soap. I do think people strip their skin so clean it upsets the PH balance which leads to skin problems.

This morning I got up, got my clean face towel and washcloth, put my sunscreen, concealer, powder etc on and looked over and noticed my towel and washcloth were dry? I totally forgot to wash my face before putting on my sunscreen and makeup and it looked fine. It also felt fine- not oily or slick. I had only put on a serum last night so I actually didnt have much product on my face. The crazy thing is I am usually using blotting papers by noon and my face is not shiny today. I dont plan on doing this on a regular basis but it is interesting that not washing my face cut down on my oil production. Hummm?

It could be the product you are using to wash your face that is stripping the oil from your skin, therefore, by midday, you have an overproduction of oil because your skin is essentially trying to compensate for the natural oil you stripped off your skin earlier with your cleanser.

But there are many times I simply use water and muslin or microfiber cloth in the AM and forgo cleanser but I don't have oil issues.

Even if you don't wear makeup, they recommend cleanser at night to wash off sunscreen and pollution from the day.
