Does this stuff have dyes in it? What color is it?

Dye as in hair color or dye as in the product just having a color?

Hi, Happy Housewife - Here are the ingredients of two of the WEN formulas. Both are white colored, as are most of the WEN formulas. (There may be one or two of the seasonal formulas that are pink). There are several different formulas, depending on your hair type, but Sweet Almond Mint is considered universal and Tea Tree is good for a dry scalp. I've read some of your posts on the gray hair threads and know that you have very pretty white hair. One of the WEN models also has beautiful silver/white hair; I don't know which formula she uses but her hair is stunning. If you checkout out the WEN listings on QVC, you can see all the different formulas and what kind of hair they are meant for. Hope this has been some help to you. They're white unless some tinting happens from the natural color in the ingredients, but there is no added dye. Chaz is very selective in what he puts in his products. The only two I can think of off hand that have a little color are the Fall Ginger Pumpkin that has a pale pumpkin tint and the Fall Apple Spice witch has a pale rosy pink tint. To my knowledge, neither have a dying affect on the hair.

Thanks - i don't use WEN but ladies like me that have pure white hair need to know if there are dyes in products because our hair will absorb that dye and turn that color. Thus you used to see the old ladies with blue hair as they used shampoos or rinses with blue dye in it.

I don't believe the conditoners have added colors, but they can have a slight tint due to the essential oils and fruit extracts, etc. Chaz has said in the past that for white/grey hair he recommends the Tea Tree cleansing conditioner. His products contain many essential oils which have a yellowish tint to them naturally, but tea tree oil is naturally clear and won't darken/discolor white hair.

most essential oils usually have a natural tint to them, so if you are concerned about color on your hair you'll want to use the Tea Tree products as tea tree essential oil is naturally colorless.
