A bunch of views and no replies yet. I wish I could be specific, but I can't. I have several bottles going at the same time and I'll pick whichever one strikes my fancy at the time. And I also have several bottles in reserve so I don't really skimp because I have plenty waiting. I use 3-4 droppersful at a time and do the oil treatments 2-3 times per week.

It's really hard to tell...I have several bottles that I'm currently using (fig, pom, tt, sam, smc) Mostly they are the 2 oz bottles, but I have a couple of 4 oz bottles in my rotation also. I do a treatment about 3 times a week and use 2-3 droppers full. I only put it on my scalp and brush it through. My hair (just past chin length) is short enough that when I brush through it distributes through the length some. So I really can't say how long a 4 oz would last me. Not sure if that helps any...

same as JLF here - I use it every other day, but have 4 bottles of different oils going. I could hazard a guess that 1 4 once bottle would last me 3 months. I use 2 full droppers per use. I have a small head.

This. I also use some of the the Sweet Almond Mint oil whenever I apply my body lotion and use the Tea Tree for my face, so if you only want to use a bottle for hair treatments, I just can't say. I'd guess 2 months, but it could just as easily be one if I used the same bottle for face, body and hair.

Does anyone know how many droppers are in a 4 oz bottle? That would be helpful in determining how long one bottle should last. As the others have said, it's pretty hard to gauge if you have several bottles going at the same time. Along with scalp treatments I have been using about 4 droppers (from 2 oz bottle) on my body immediately after stepping out of the shower- one for each arm, one for each leg. This has helped my dry, winter skin.

I do treatments twice a week, using 4 dropperfuls. I also use a single drop or two in my wet hair after cleansing twice a week. I only have one oil so far, so I can tell you that after a month of this, my 4 oz bottle is a third of the way gone. Based on this, the bottle should last me about 3 months as long as I don't use it for extra things like bath and body.

the problem with this question is that there is no precise answer. how long a 4oz bottle lasts depends on how often and how much you use at any given time.

Me too, tx. I did my second one last night. My scalp is very happy!

I had my 4 oz lavender for over a year. I use it on the body. it strips color out if i do a treatment

When you use the Tea Tree oil on your face, do you use it straight or mixed with your moisturizer?

Either way, how long does the smell last?

Hi I'm chickenmoo--and I'm a Wen oil addict.LOL

I'm totally obsessive about my oils...I buy the big bottles in every scent, and have them in the little size too--and just keep refilling the small ones from the large ones...I do that because I've had mishaps where I've spilled nearly full bottles of oil and was beyond upset!lol

I think because I use all the scents, I can't say definitely how long a bottle would last. I know I stock up whenever I can...and if there's any $20 cucumber oil left, I keep buying that as emergency back up since the other oils are so expensive.

I use the heavier oils, like POM and FIG on the ends of my hair before adding my leave in CC. I don't use more than a small-bottle dropper-full for my ends... But when my hair is mostly dry, I use a lighter oil like Cuke or Lav(which smells absolutely heavenly btw) on my scalp and just massage it through. My hair is very processed, so I can use oil day and night without it looking greasy or heavy...And the oil I use on my scalp is never more than a dropper-full from the small bottle.

I would just guess that a big bottle of oil would last me 4-6 months...it really depends on the weather, how good I've been about not exposing my hair to wind/heat/etc. Plus, as much as I try to use the oils just for my hair--they smell so great I can't help but add them to my bath, and apply them to my skin along with the body lotion--OMG the POM is absolute heaven in a bottle!!!!

So I think it really depends how much oil you use per use, and *how* you use it--if you stick to just your hair, the oil lasts longer--but if you're using it on your body and in the tub, it tends to go much faster...But your skin will look and feel fabulous!

I use it twice a week as I only wash my hair twice a week
A 4oz last me a few months. Wish I could be more specific on time but maybe 3-6 months.

Since starting the oils I see a big difference. The main difference is that my scalp doesn't get oily so I can go longer without washing. I could go a week but I'm set in my ways and find that too long between washings.

There was an old thread where a poster actually calculated the amount of oil in the 4 oz dropper.

They determined that if you used EXACTLY 4 droppers for each treatment a bottle would last 32 treatments.

It took me a long time to use the oils for more than smoothing out some frizzies on dry hair or adding a few drops to styling cream. Now I use it on my scalp overnight twice a week. Since I have a bunch of 1oz bottles open and use those along with a 4oz FIG (the last of my original FIG), I'd guess that a 4oz bottle would last me about 4 - 6 months.

How long does it have to be in your hair (scalp) to be effective? That is, if I'm not doing an overnight treatment, how short of a time can I use the oil and still get results?

Chaz suggests you use 4 droppers, but I find that I am very greasy when I do this. This is fine if I'm staying home, but he always says you can use that amount and go to the gym, do this, do that. I find that even two droppers is a little too wet looking for me to go out and comfortably show my face without looking like a big greaseball.

Shaunac, the amount of oil you use is based on how long your hair is. Mine is mid-back, so I can use 4 droppers plus...If your hair is shorter, you can use less. The point is to make sure the scalp gets a good amount--massage it in, and I comb it through so it gets the lengths and ends as much as possible. You don't have to be sopping in oil to get good results. IMHO, the best results are from more frequent use rather than using huge amounts.

As far as leave-in time, I don't really have an amount of time... I used to use them for maybe an hour before I cleansed--but that was back when my hair was super damaged and was just starting with Wen. There are few weekends where I can leave oil in overnight, and cleanse in the a.m....but I don't do that nearly as often as the quickie oil treatment.lol The quick one works just fine IMHO too....I was using Tea Tree religiously for a couple of months, and I noticed my roots coming in much much sooner than when I didn't use the oils--and it seems Tea Tree makes my hair grow the fastest.
