Opinions needed: The Absolute Best Blow Dryer of All Time

This is like the Groundhog Day question of this BB. lol!

I need a new blow dryer! There are so many I'm lost reading all the reviews. Seems like make-up, people have their different preferences. I'm open to all suggestions.

I need multi settings,

a lighter weight and

one that has a history of lasting a while before it dies.

I have longer hair, so one that works well with that length...and

baby fine hair, so hurricane force wind/air isn't necessary because that will just tangle my hair too!

I don't care about the price if it is an excellent dryer!

I always buy one that has separate heat and speed controls so I can choose hot or cool, high speed or low speed. Under $25 at Target.

I 200% agree and the best dryer I have ever purchased! Dries my thick hair easily without too much heat or force making for the best hair days ever! I purchased mine form Folica also. I believe Chaz Dean uses this dryer.

Although many on this board love the Super Solano noted by the poster above, you may want to read some reviews outside of this board. Many of the reviews on the folica site say exactly what I thought about the Solano ... I felt it was really heavy compared with many other dryers and the crazy long cord was a royal pain (and added to the weight). Instead, I love my Revlon Tourmaline/Ionic dryer. Lightweight, quiet, leaves my hair with no frizz, great price .. have had for years. A friend just bought the dryer at Target, same model, and said it was still about $25.

I love love love my T3 featherweight hair dryer! I too have long hair and before I got this one I was going through at least 2 a year. I have had mine for about 5 years. The first one that I got did have a plug that went bad. It was still under warranty and T3 sent me a brand new one and included a label to send the defective one back. I will definitely be buying a new one if mine ever goes bad. It is so lightweight, dries my hair faster than other dryers, and is really quiet for a hair dryer.

Honestly, I have an expensive T3 and an inexpensive Conair. I see no difference at all between the two. Save your money!

Try the T3 Featherweight. I had one for about 5 years but I recently dropped it and when I plugged it in there were sparks coming out of the socket so I decided to toss it out. I never had any problems with it at all. I would just clean the filter occasionally, as needed. I heard Chi is also a good brand. I am going to replace my T3 with a Conair. I don't feel like spending too much for a dryer this time around. Good luck.

I own a $20.00 Conair from Wal Mart. That thing will not die and does a beautiful job. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. I've had it for about 8 years now.

I didn't care for my T3 at all. When it died I bought a Blowout Beauty Professional. It may be on the heavy side since you mentioned wanting something light weight. I have no problem maneuvering with one hand using the round brush method, so while it's not light, it's not exorbitantly heavy either.

I really believe you don't have to spend a lot to get a more than suitable blow dryer, even though mine was on the pricey side. I'd replace it with something less costly. It does cut my drying time down a lot, but various products can contribute to that.

Conair makes great products. Expensive doesn't always =better. My fav curling iron is a Conair and so is my contraption that curls hair inside the unit then releases. Chemo brain strikes again! Curl Secret, maybe?

The Solano brand has purportedly always been considered the professional blow dryer. For a long time, it was the only really super powered blow dryer available until T3, Chi and other brands came out with their versions.

I would be tempted today to invest in the Blowout Beauty Pro as they blow dry a lot of hair each and every day at their salons around the country (blow outs only - no cut or coloring) and you would think they created one that really did the job fast and well.

When I am shopping blow dryers or other hair tools, I always check out Folica dot com as they carry a lot of great brands that just don't have as much visibility outside of the big cities.

I have a T3 Revolution which I have been very happy with .................it is not as light weight as their "lightweight" dryer is but it is not that heavy either. I have no problems when blow drying with it and I do have weak wrists.

Just bought the Drybar (Buttercup) hairdryer and so far so good!!! It's fairly lightweight and dries quickly. Not super loud and leave my color treated hair shiny
