just a thought, if the cream in the tub is too thick and hard to rub in, you might try applying coconut oil first, then add the cream

Cerave, Cetaphil, Vanicream...In the tub version, not the pumps. Any preferences? I see Costco has Cetaphil duos in their current ad. My arms, legs and hands required a trip to the derm....super dry, red, flaking. Practically on fire. Getting better soon I hope. Never had anything like it before.

I have used Cerave and Cetaphil. I like them both. The Cetaphil is a lot thicker and does not spread as easily as the Cerave, but it works really well for super dry patches. The Cerave has better ingredients for repairing the skin in my opinion. Both work well for me and my kids. Sorry if I wasn't much help. I do think you would benefit from either of these. Hope your skin feels better soon

I looove CeraVe in both the hydrating lotion (pump, I use this more often) and the tub which is more moisturizing. It was recommended by my derm, too. I use it on my face

My dermatologist also recommended the CeraVe cream for an itchy rash that I had on my arms, back, & chest last year (turned out to be hives) I've been using the cream since last October & I like it, I've repurchased it multiple times. Costco has both the CeraVe cream & lotion at their pharmacy, behind the counter.

My derm recommends Cetaphil. I've been using it since the 1980's, long before I ever saw the doc. I'd never used it on my face though. It's a lifesaver for dry, burning skin, or skin that's reacting to something it didn't like. The tub is more economical, especially from Costco, but it does come in a 3 oz. tube.

I ALWAYS have a tub of CeraVe in the house, cant be without. My second fav would be Vanicream, have had the pump TUB and it never got plugged, I dont really care for Cetaphil (products), they seem kinda wimpy imo.

I have been told that pharmasists use Vanicream as a compound in making rx creams.

CeraVe usually has a few dollar off coupon you can print off at their site.

In October I began having some sort of reaction and my derm has told me to eliminate pretty much everything I was using, including hair products!! I am using Cerave cleansers and lotion ( tub), Walgreen Free and Clear Shampoo and Conditioner. Hopefully we can start re-introducing some other products at some point. I actually don't mind the shampoo and conditioner. Good Luck!

I've been using CeraVe SA cream in the jar. My skin was dry and flaky. My husband also uses this on his dry cracked feet and they look so much better. Just make sure you get the one that says SA which stands for salicylic acid. This stuff is the best and it comes in a pump too but that's the SA lotion.

I've had 3 Derms recommend cerave. Both pump and cream in tub are great! Btw, you could get some disposable plastic spoons to scoop out the cream from the tub, for something sanitary each time. Not great waste-wise, so you could rewash if you wanted.

I've used all 3. I like the CeraVe the best as I think it soaks in better. The Vanicream is very heavy (it's used as a base for medications) and while I loved it for my feet, it was a bit too heavy for my body.

Costco has the best price on the Cera Ve tub. Walmart sells a smaller tub, so don't be fooled that it's cheaper. It's less produce.

I pay $12.55 at Costco for the big tub and it lasts a long time.

I like it for my hands. I bought a box of little tubs for the car, work, purse, bedside table, etc. so I always have it with me.
