Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms & Lacquer Balms - Any Reviews?

I'm interested in perhaps trying these new balms. They're different from the Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain Balms - more pigmented. I've read that the matte ones can be drying. I like several colors in the lacquer version, but the shimmer aspect is making me wonder if it's too much for these maturing lips. Anyone with personal experience using either of them? Thanks

I'm sorry. I don't have much personal experience with them. I only purchased one Lacquer Balm in Coquette, and it was a super bright fuschia so I returned it. I didn't find it moisturizing at all and the texture was super thin and highly pigmented (bright fuschia). Maybe I just picked a bad color. I've seen quite a few reviews on youtube and it seems some people prefer the matte balms over the lacquer balms. I am interested to try two shades from the matte collection. You may be interested to check out reviews on youtube. I find the reviews where the product is swatched on the lips to be the most helpful to me.

Thank you, Karena. I looked up a couple of videos and they do give a better idea of the colors IRL. One woman made a distinct point that with the Lacquers as the color wears off you're left with just glitter on your lips. That cinched it for me, I'll pick up a couple of Mattes, if anything. I'm on my way to get some blood work done this morning so I'll be stopping at Walgreen's or CVS on the way home.

I have the shiny lacquer one in demure, which is a light shimmering pink. I am 48 and I like this soft look. It works well for me and lasts a few hours. I do not seem to have any glitter left on my lips as it wears off as was mentioned. The only thing is that it has peppermint oil in it and I am sensitive to that so after I am finished with it I will not purchase again, but that is the only reason if they took that out it would be great for me.

I recently bought the shiny in Provocateur - number 135. It is a pretty shade of red and wears well. It does not bleed or creep into the corners of my mouth. Very pleased with it. Oh, I did not find that I had any glitter on my lips after it wore off either.

The Revlon crayon lip products (recently rebranded as Colorburst instead of Just Bitten) are my absolute favorite. I also have many crayons from Tarte and Clinique. These seem to last longer and are at a much better price. My all time go to favorite is Honey, one of the original colors. My Walgreen's was half sold out, so I missed out on the nude and the purple in the new lines. I ended up with medium range pink shades in both new formulas. I prefer the one in the shiny tube, its shiny, not glittery.

Well, I ordered a few of the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms from Ulta last week since I had an order going in anyway. If I make a mistake in color with inexpensive, drugstore products, or if I just don't like how it works, I usually just "eat it", but these are going back! I'm tired of wasting money on empty promises. I selected three colors (Sultry, Standout, and Elusive). Granted I don't have the lips of a 20 yr. old anymore, but mine are not dry or cracked - just the normal lines on the lip surface. Each one of these balms settled into the lines on my lips and looked awful. I had to apply a gloss over the top to make them at least passable. I like the original Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains and Revlon Lip Butters much better, even if I have to reapply a little more often.
