OP, I second the NCN rec. I, too, have an issue with 'cones and they seem to be everywhere. I love PC but have to stay away from the products that are high in them like her retinol and antioxidant serums. I've been very, very happy with the NCN items I've tried.

I have sensitivity to silicones and seeking skin care and cosmetics for over 50 needs without cones, orange oil or lavender. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

I have similar sensitivity (milia) with silicone.....I love Dr. Denese's daily firming facial pads...they have glycolic acid, remove flaking and dead skin cells and leave behind nothing to irritate your skin.....I also find the ROC line to work well on my skin...my SIL lives in Paris and used to send me this line by mail before it was sold in the US....it's been around a long time. I hope these will help you. I use my Mia with Cerave cleanser and have had no more problems that I had using silicone-based products.

As far as skincare, it might help if you gave a little more information as to your skintype- are you normal, dry, oily, acne prone, combination?- and what type of issues are you wishing to address- age spots, wrinkles/fine lines, anti-aging in general, acne, milia, dullness, hyperpigmentation, etc.

Nicks, unfortunately, all of the ROC products (except the cleansers) contain silicones, plus a strong fragrance, so you might want to take a pass on that brand.

I am also sensitive to silicones and essential oils, but am hesitant to recommend products until I know your skin type and what issues you are trying to address. My skin is super sensitive, I have rosacea and combination skin, so my needs in skin care may be different from yours.

But thankfully, I have no problem with -cones or petroleum products (although I don't see the latter in my skin care products).

Nicks, take a look at NCN Pro Skin Care at ncnskincare dot com. Also read her blog for recommendations about your particular skin care objectives. I'm not advocating her line, per se, it's just a suggestion for you to look at to see if the product ingredients will work for you.

Some of the products do have essential oils in them but not all of them. None of the products I happened to look at had silicones in them. There is a tab for Product Ingredients on her website that lists the ingredients in her products so that you can quickly determine which ones might be right for you.

For general anti-aging and dullness, you want to start using a retinol product and an alpha hydroxy acid product (glycolic acid, as an example) to assist with cell turnover. I'm still searching for a product that helps fade hyperpigmentation. The NCN website has a Formula 5-5-5 serum and Formula 7 serum for hyperpigmentation, but I haven't tried either one.

I have not had the chance to use any products from NCN skin care but have read good things about the line from other threads on this forum. As soon as I finish up what I'm presently using, I'm going to try a few of her products. Do a search on this forum for NCN and see what threads pop up about it.

I like Simple Moisturizing Cleanser (drugstore, WalMart), no dyes or fragrance.

HTH

My skin is super sensitive, I have rosacea and combination skin, so my needs in skin care may be different from yours.

I don't have rosacea but super dry and sensitive to strong fragrance, silicones and some oils. Skin easily irritated.

Thanks to all responding, I'm just slow....!

the ROC cream I use has no "cones" in it and was recommended by my dermatologist also

the entire Philosophy skin care line contains a lot of things that cause milia on my skin overnight; if you have any sensitivity to milia I would avoid all of it

OP, I second the NCN rec. I, too, have an issue with 'cones and they seem to be everywhere. I love PC but have to stay away from the products that are high in them like her retinol and antioxidant serums. I've been very, very happy with the NCN items I've tried.
