Beauties, I could really use some advise on how I can get my hair to hold a curl using Calista Tools short hot rollers. I have shoulder length baby fine, thin, straight hair. I have followed the directions, I use a styling product on clean dry hair, then I leave the rollers in for 20-30 minutes until completely cool, gently remove the rollers, style my curls with my fingers, spray with hairspray. One hour later I have no curl at all. What am I doing wrong? I have watched numerous YouTube videos regarding this. I noticed that these rollers had gotten mostly bad reviews and the Q has removed all of the reviews now. I am tempted to return my set. But would love to keep them if I could get the curl to stay in. Please help! Thanks in advance,

I gave these as a gift, and I am sending them back Monday. My friends says she has tried every way imaginable to get these rollers to work in her hair but has had no luck.

What kind of styling product are you using? I use WEN products. After I've cleansed my hair, I apply WEN styling creme and volumizing treatment mist to wet hair and dry it with a blow dryer. When I'm ready to use the Calista Tools hot rollers, I give each section a little misting with Calista Tools Complete Texturizing Spray. My hair flops like yours unless I use this Calista Tools spray.

I can't speak about the Calista rollers. I have a Revlon set. I spray a small dollop of Sebastian light whipped creme into my hands and apply to my dry hair, then use the rollers. I have curls that stay for several days even without hair spray. I do have long, wavy thick hair so not sure if this styling creme would work on everyone's hair, but it's worth a try. I get mine on Amazon for around $10.

I apologize for the way my original post looked I used my iPad to write it.

I am a WEN girl 100%, and was usually just use the styling cream, today I used the Wen Volumizing Treatment Spray and it worked, I was thrilled that my hair has held its curl so far and it's been five hours now.

I've never used the Calista Tools spray yet. I can't help but wonder why the creator and hair stylist of Calista tools never has her hair curled when she is on air. I'm not meaning to sound critical of her by any means, but I would think that she would want to have her hair curled as to show how good her products are.

Thanks for your input, I value your opinions.

Does anyone else find it strange that all of the reviews were removed or is it just me?

I saw that they were about 50/50. About half were 5 stars and the other half were 1 star reviews previously.

Use a mousse on your hair, that might help. I use the calista tools curlers with no problem, sometimes I have TOO much curl. Good luck to you.

I have super fine, super thick straight hair. It is color treated. I use Calista Tool Ion Curlers to get the best curl. When I first used them, I didn't spray each section with hairspray, but then tried many brands. I found Rusk Being Sexy is the best for my hair type to make the curls hold without being hard. I got mine at TJ Maxx for $7. It smells divine!

I've been growing my hair out from short/spiky to where it is now chin length bob. I used the rollers for several months while going to through the agony of growing out the layers. It did seem to give some body, though it all drooped after a couple of hours. If it was windy outside, the wind blew it right out. I never tried to get curls, just some body & to get the ends to curve under. I haven't used the rollers in several months now & will probably clean them & donate to ARC or Goodwill as they're just taking up space in my bathroom vanity. All said & done, I think it was a waste of my money.

I use a combination of hot rollers and Velcro rollers to style my hair. I use Biolage volumizing mousse on my almost-dry hair, then spray each curl with Biolage (or Kenra) Thermal Setting Spray before rolling. When all my hair is rolled, I blast the blow dryer on my head for five minutes, then a minute on the cool setting. I leave my hair up another half hour while I do my makeup. I try to break up the curls with my fingers, then touch up a little with a brush. My final step is to mist with Sebastian Shaper hair spray.

My hair is not quite shoulder length, medium-thick, and has some coarseness and a little natural wave. This method holds my hair all day.

The only thing that's worked well on my barely shoulder length layered hair is Curl Secret.. and that's a total different type of beachy wave vs structured curl. Works great and the curl is still there after 2 days though.
