Hey Keli,

I know you really recommend Medsmex, or is it ADC??? Anyway, I know you are familiar with the products and order from both of them. I am trying to figure out the efficacy and base of the Retin A 0.04%. I am not getting anywhere emailing and calling the company. I am nervous to use the product, because it looks like a cream and feels like a cream. Plus, it dries with a white, powdery finish. Not too big of a deal I guess, since I just go to sleep anyhow. But, I have oily, breakout prone skin, and do not want a base of OIL.

So, I was wondering if you might have some insight into the situation? I have only used the .25% so I just wanted to go up to the .05%, before making it up to the stronger one. Is there any GEL that is clear, without an oil/cream base? It is confusing for me, since the .4% is labeled as a MICRO GEL!! I would appreciat any input.

Also, I was reading something about GENERICS....they are required to have the same active ingredient, but are allowed a 20% variation, which the article said either 20% stronger, or 80% weaker.....which the latter made no sense....I can't remember where I read it or exactly what it said. My pharmacist says that their safety regulations or standards may not be as tough as ours and that the product may not be as effective or safe.

I would like to save some money, as we all would, but I am very leary of using the products. ADCs anyway....I would feel more comfortable with MedsMex I think..I don't know why....

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Oh, and are you the one who raved about a shampoo and conditioner from Nexxus? I used Nexxus as a child, so I was trying to find it, and I think you said "pro mend" right? Anyway, my CVS was out, and they said that NEVER happens, that the warehouse is out, so it must be great...I did find the overnight treatment at my grocery store, and used it last night. If that is what you meant, it REALLY smells good, and made my hair pretty soft! Thanks....
