In theory, it sounds good, but I'd be too afraid of a slip & fall accident when getting out of the tub because it's happened to me in the past. Anyone who is as old as me will remember the encapsulated bath oils from years ago (like a giant softgel vitamin), about the size of a big grape, that you'd toss in the tub as the bath filled. The hot water would melt the softgel and release the oil into the water. My friend had some and my mom wouldn't buy them for me so my friend gave me some of hers. I used them, and yep, it made the tub real slippery. To me, if you're going to use a body oil it's better to apply after getting out of the tub or shower.

I heard Jennifer from SSC say that she would sometimes take their Olive oil body oil and put a few drops in her bath and when she would get out her skin would be soft and moisturized. It has been a while since I did this. My skin is so dry that I tried this tonite. I just used plain old mineral oil and my skin is so soft! Do any of you use oils in your bath? If so which ones do you like best?

Yes! I can't use bubbles or soaps in my baths, but I put in oil every once in a while. I got some grapeseed oil at the grocery store for little $ and just throw in a squirt every once in a while. Silky smooth!!

I don't do baths. But, I do put oil on damp skin after my shower and then put lotion on top of that.

I love oils! I use them in the bath and shower; I usually use an almond oil I get from our local health food store....I never use moisturizers except on my face , never liked how they feel...i use oils right before I step out of the shower....just love them

I would try it if I weren't already afraid of slipping. I love the idea.

Sometimes I think the jacuzzi bath in the house I'm renting was made only for show because it's ridiculously deep and set in wide tiling. I have no idea how anyone elderly or with even the slightest infirmity could cope with it. It's like climbing over a gate to get in and out and I feel like I'm risking life and limb. The last think I need is a slippery surface!
