topic WEN vs. philosophy -- suds are bad vs. suds are good ??? in Beauty

After seeing the two product lines being pushed, back-to-back, I have to ask this question.

Are suds bad for our hair and skin, or good for them? Both WEN and philosophy are pretty hard-sell with this particular theme: suds. While the WEN line boasts no suds in our salon since 1993, the philosophy guru's stand and create billows of suds on-screen.

And they both tout their products as being wonderful for both hair and skin.

So, what's the answer? I'm no expert -- I'd like to know how the customer is supposed to decide, especially since both are so prominently placed on QVC. Thanks!
