Sounds like you may be allergic to or have an intolerance to something in the formula…I would not keep using it if it's making your skin flake.

Hello everyone. FAS is probably one of my favorite scents and I love what it does for my hair except for one thing. I tend to use ALL of the formulations. Esp the seasonals, 613 and BGT. With FAS I start getting flakes around my hairline. I do not want to stop using it. This does not happen with any other formulations. What could cause this? So strange. At first I thought it was just the cold dry weather but it happened in the fall after I used the 16 oz. I took a break until my 32oz AD came and sure enough a couple of weeks after using it the flakes came back. SO strange.

I wonder if it is skin flakes or super emulsified CC. Twice it happened to me and I realized that with FAS I have to be extra intentional on rinsing at the hairline. It wasn't my scalp tho. I was shocked bc I use so much TT oil, I thought how could it be dandruff and sure enough it wasn't.

I agree with peace, sounds like an ingredient could be irritating or drying out your skin/scalp in that area. I wouldn't continue to use it, even if you love the scent.

Is your scalp itching or feeling dry? If you don't feel a difference in your scalp, then I wonder if it's product, and not skin.

Whether it's skin or product, here are a couple ideas for you: You could use FAS on your ponytail section only -- not on your scalp. Or, you could try using it on your scalp for the first cleanse only, and then use something very moisturizing on your scalp for the second cleanse.

I hope you don't have to give up your FAS!!

Aww, that's terrible Kempokim! FAS is the only CC I know of that is pink in color, maybe the ingredient used to make it pink is irritating your skin? The dry winter air might be a factor, too. Like with allergy testing, try a different product for a while and see if it changes, then go back to FAS and see what happens. Hope it works out that you can still use the formula you love!
