I've had false lashes applied twice during makeovers and they looked great. In both cases the makeup artists used lash clusters on the outer edge only. I already have very full, black lashes and the clusters just gave me extra emphasis while looking natural.

I have the lash clusters from both MAC and Shu along with lash adhesive. Each cluster is held in place with a dot of adhesive (put a blob on your hand and then dip the bulb of the cluster in it). After set in place, liner and mascara can be applied to blend the cluster in even more.

I'd suggest that you have a MA show you how to apply either a half lash or the clusters. After that you can purchase whichever style you prefer (many like the half lash) and practice at home. Ardell is a good brand and can be found at drug or department stores.

I have been wearing eyelashes for many years. They are basically all the same. I suggest you buy 10 pairs on eBay from a Chinese seller. Cost is under $2. You can also buy a tube of eyelash glue (buy white that turns clear not the dark) from eBay for about $1. Then you will have 10 pairs to play with. You need to cut approximately 1/4" off each end to fit the average eye. And practice, practice, practice. It gets easier the more you do it. I can put false eyelashes on faster than mascara. Good luck!

Thanks all for the advice. I went to my local MAC store and they showed me how to apply both strip and cluster false lashes. They make it look easy, but I think this might involve some practice on my part.

I bought some from MAC and then went to the drugstore and bought some less expensive "practice" lashes there. I also watched a pile of videos (Lisa Eldridge was the best), so I think I have the idea.

I've had false lashes applied for events and have been amazed at the difference. I never thought to try this myself for everyday, but have been feeling the need for a more dramatic look of late. Must be spring fever!

Appreciate the input!
