Fake Clarisonics

I was watching Angie/Hotandflashy's newest video on Youtube about fake Clarisonics. I have all the same signs that she reported: The weirdly spaced letters on the head, rust on the inside, etc.

Has anyone else found out that they have a fake Clarisonic?

No -- I think mine is legit. I imagine there's a big counterfeit presence on eBay and amazon. Heck, if they're making fake $3 Salux cloths, you can bet they're making fake Clarisonics.

Where did you purhase yours? I got mine from the Q and I feel confident because it was supplied by the vendor/manufacturer. But I recall back when designer handbag knockoffs were first hitting the market (that we were aware of) and even legit retailers like Nordstrom had gotten some counterfiets, unbeknownst to them.

Guess we'd better focus more on authenticity and quality than getting it cheap -- which is going to cut down on a LOT of my eBay and amazon purchases. :-)

If you buy from Amazon, not the Amazon marketplace, you can get a real one. Sellers on the marketplace are like ebay and you may get a real one or you may get a fake one. Did you pay a price that was lower than normal or considerably lower? If you see something like that on an item that has a retail prices that's basically the same everywhere else, odds are good that it's not real. I bought I counterfeit item from Amazon's marketplace, thinking I would be safe because it was "fulfilled by Amazon" but I was wrong. I returned it without hassle. (I found out within 5-7 days or receiving the item.) I also bought a real item sold by Amazon, not a marketplace seller and fulfilled by Amazon. It cost more, but it wasn't a counterfeit and worked much better.

If you buy a legitimate Clarisonic, it should have a registration card. When you try to register it, Clarisonic should be able to tell you straight away whether it's a fake or real.

If you've bought a fake one, you should report it to Amazon, since they are supposed to stand behind the sellers on their site.

I have two purchased through QVC and they are fine (one is four years old).

Yes- there are even fake Clarisonic brushes being sold in fake Clarisonic boxes. The scary thing is they don't even pretend to be generic but the real deal.

I had heard about this problem with some of them being fake. I bought mine at Ulta and immediately registered it. It went fine and I am really enjoying it.

I recently bought Clarisonic replacement brushes from Groupon. I got a great deal, the brushes LOOK perfect, the box LOOKS perfect, but my deep pore brush, that I thought was great at first, feels just a little scratchy, as if some of the bristles are too long. I don't know if it's fake, or if it's my imagination. Would Groupon have fake products?

philogirl- yes I totally understand. I bought some 'authentic' brushes on ebay. But you know what they say a deal too good to be true. If you have a real box you can compare to what you received plus you can look at the numbers on the bottom of the brush and compare those. They are really good fakes. There is woman on youtube that did a comparison if you want to check it out. Just google fake clarisonic brushes.

The only time I will buy cosmetics, etc on Ebay is right after a TSV and people break them down and sell individual items. I would never buy a Clarisonic from Amazon or Ebay.

If I had to purchase fake, I would choose an appliance fake vs a cosmetic fake. A Fake Sonic doesn't seep into my pores & skin...eek.

Thanks for the understanding words. I will dig around for boxes. I think I kept the Groupon box, so at least I can take it to Sephora and compare. I will keep you posted.

I got a fake Clarisonic from Amazon (marketplace seller). I tried to register it and they had no record of the #. So Amazon refunded my money directly, and paid for my return shipping back to the sender.
