Is it just me???

The qvc beauty forum used to be fun, fast paced & way more engaging! What happened? I see threads at the bottom of my page that were last replied to in the morning!???? It used to be fun & engaging with lots of useful info to be shared but not so much anymore. I see Mally's recent TSV kinda flopped & that may be because TPTB but the kabash on sharing TSV #s (which I really don't get since you can no longer sub to the insider. The only posts that get attention are the the snarkfests, host nitpicking & other controversial cr @p. What happened?

Sometimes I'm afraid to start a topic or reply to one because it can get twisted into something negative. There was a thread I think on Saturday that got really ugly. Sometimes I just read and move along!

It seems they let those kind of things keep going & the threads where we are actually exchanging beauty info (TSV #'s, deals on other sites) get removed.

It WAS very fast paced with tons of conversation/comments! I know many left & started their own self policed groups because webbie kinda turned into the Gestapo. I'm fairly certain it has hurt beauty sales here too. I just don't get it. Of course, the host bashing continues for days but we can't share TSV #s that will ultimately increase sales!??????

I am very new to this beauty board but from the start I have noticed that the majority of topics are negative. Criticizing the models, the hostesses and each other is very disheartening. What is the point of tearing people down when you are sitting behind your phone, computer or tablet by commenting anonymously? Most of us just want to read reviews or experiences with makeup, etc. and not about how someone's hair looks bad or their lipstick is ugly. We all have bad days and good, but there is no need to bring others down to make yourself feel better.

I came here bloodied and bruised after a several-year immersion in a political bulletin board.

You'd expect more "heat" on a political board, but it just became mean! When I first began posting there people were more than helpful, non-judgmental, and it was wonderful. I learned a LOT.

Then it got to the point where it seemed some just kind of lurked around waiting to see a post they could swoop in on and decimate the poster. The entire topic of the thread dissolved into a war between both sides of the argument. A MEAN war. I left and haven't gone back, and I'm not the only one.

I imagine it's similar to that here for those of you who have commented on it. It's certainly not as cut throat as the political arena, but I have seen some downright baffling posts where the only reason seemed to be to criticize and belittle.

But on the whole, I'm loving it here! Wonderful, wonderful people! *big hug*

I'm sorry for those who have noticed and have been saddened by a change. All I can figure is those posters must be miserable people. Sad.

I'm just wondering why people think Mallys TSV flopped? Because it didn't sell out (maybe they had more to sell) or because her late show wasn't on (if it didn't sell good don't you think it would be the opposite). I think the board has become sort of clickish (for example the lady the complains she being bullied when someone doesn't agree with her then several wish her happy birthday in another thread). I would be willing to bet a lot have left thisboard because of her alone. IMO. Another reason I think is because there are a lot of OT threads and stuff that causes arguments. We've got YouTube gurus on here trying to promote their channels. I think a lot of this stuff is funny, but geez people sure do get catty on here,

I'm not really a regular on the beauty boards, but have to say I think ALL the boards have been dull as dirt for the past few weeks. Sure, some of it's winter, harsh weather, being busy over the holidays and post holiday blahs, but I also think some of it has a lot to do with how really dull QVC and the programming have gotten and has been for far too long, with no relief in sight.

I agree. I've been a member/poster for years & the quality of posts has gone way downhill. The most viewed/responded to threads are the controversial ones. We used to share new products, sales, future TSVs & now it's all about Shawn's lipstick or some such nonsense.

Me too! Add that to the holiday shuffle and I'm just not here as often. I agree it used to be more fun. Maybe we should all try to re-commit to fun :-)

Hmm, you might be on to something. I'm usually a sucker for a good beauty TSV but I honestly haven't been tempted in months. I kinda attributed that to not being able to share advance sale #s. Those used to get me excited & chatty. Now I just wait til TSV day & have been largely underwhelmed.
