Thought I would give a suggestion about the hanging tomato planter. Got a call the other day telling me that there might be a problem with the stand so we just slid the pole down into a cast iron patio umbrella stand that we had and it works great. Got the tomatoes planted and it is strong and will not fall over. Let me know what works for you.

Ebonysmom, did QVC call you to tell you about the problem with the stand, or did someone else who has one? What exactly is the problem? I got it when it was the TSV, but it's too early to plant tomatoes in MN, so I haven't even taken it out of the box yet! Thanks!

I'm sending mine back...Haven't taken it out of the box either....I'm just putting on box "return to sender" and am not paying postage to return. I still have their message on the answering machine, but don't remember exactly what is said. I'm not waiting for a "fix" from the mfr. They can have this piece of junk back....I was on the fence about it anyway. -- Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. -- Dale Carnegie

Someone did call me about this problem which they said might occur. We were anxious to put up our planter and when we tried the three legs at the bottom gave out and so my daughter suggested we just slide the pole down into our cast iron patio umbrella stand and it worked perfectly. Nice and strong! A beautiful day yesterday here in Virginia and my birthday too. Got all the deck flowers, tomatoes and bird house, hummingbird feeders up and last nite it looked beautiful with all the solar lights and deck lights gleeming. A great birthday! Today however it has been storming and raining buckets all day!!!

I also received a call from QVC. I called CS and they said the legs can come out when you try to move it. Obviously if it is full of soil it would tip over and injure someone. We have it put together but haven't planted the tomatoes yet. We got 7 inches of snow Friday so will have to wait until the weather gets warmer. CS said even if it's put together they will take it back if we choose not to keep it.

I did not get a phone call from QVC....the first I knew of a problem was here! I contacted a customer service rep via live chat. She told me that there is indeed a problem with the stand so I should not put it together until somebody calls me with a "solution". Has anyone gotten a call about a "solution"?

The 'solution' is to return it and get your money back!

Geez, we all saw it coming when it was first presented. Even if it did work well it's SO dang ugly I would not want people to see it on my deck.
