Hi all~Thought I would stop by and say hi as we got poofed. This makes it easier for me today, I don't have to remember so much!!! lol Not much going on tonight. We finished the papering this afternoon. We will settle the room tomorrow and get things back to normal, what ever that is. I am so tired, I can't think so I will end this for now. Going to sit and knit for awhile then an early to bed. Have a great evening all. lm

Gloriajean, I'm excited for you-I can't wait to hear what you think about this cookware. As my Todd English dies, I'm going to replace pieces but I'm taking my time....Earlier in our married life, complete sets always seemed like a great deal, but in the end, none of them have lasted. I'm going to buy open stock-one piece at a time, but the cookware you bought looks fascinating. How did you hear about it and what was a deciding factor for you? Can you do something simple like fry an egg???? I'm one tired puppy or else I'd read everything on the site, but if you could highlight it for me, I'd love to hear more. Littlemac, what are you knitting? I'm gathering my stash together: I've got alot of coned yarn (acridel-which is an acrylic hard yarn meant for machine knitting dresses, suits and skirts).I want to start a hand project and I love knitting but I was watching this show on PBS called Knitting and Crochet Today. I'm rediscovering good old crochet granny squares...but there is so much you can do with colors....it's mindless and fun. I'm not up for intricate patterns. Humphrey, how is Maisie? Chickenbutt, where are you? Shoekitty, I hope you don't think I was overstepping my bounds by launching this: this is the thread you started and I"m not hijacking it but I was so forlorn this afternoon when I saw it went "poof". At any rate, I made dinner for you tonight....I slow cooked a brisket (Jack Coleman organic of course) in a rich Hunter's sauce in Le Creuset on a Wolf range. To go along with this delightful dish, we have oven roasted organic potatoes and carrots and steamed young green beans drizzled with Meyer lemon infused oil (I just made that up, but I bet that would be tasty-of course, it was lightly seasoned with grey salt). For dessert m'lady, I'm offering creme brulee made with Madagascar vanilla beans....and I donned my St. John suit and put on my Jimmy Choos....Ok-I'm lie...I'm wearing sweats and Hush Puppies, but I did try to be elegant...Ok-if you look past that, I'll give you Fiji water perfectly chilled-in a Waterford chrystal goblet....ahhhh what I great dinner... Poodlepet, just watch the video - it shows everything you can do with it. Yes, it shows frying an egg. What made me decide on this? Well, my daughter has this set, and being All Clad is so expensive for one pan, and this was up for auction on Ebay, and my daughter found it, we got it for a fraction of what she had to pay for hers and it's new. That's how it all came about. She got hers at a home party. -- Blessings, Gloria

What happened? I was having the workmen do the tile entry today, and in that time we were poofed? Yesterday a thread I was in was poofed. It was about college fees (that's a real nasty one, huh). Ok, one more time then we will meet in among friends. Everyone got poofed this week. New webbie, or they are not allowing more than a limited amount of posts. JUst don't use the hyperlinks for a while, for some reason they don't like them. Anyway, tomorrow my king cake comes! Yeah. Tomorrow they are thinsetting the tile. Today they pored and leveled the morter bed fro tile -- Shoekitty's the name Shoes are my game!

shoekitty, Thank you for posting on Doxie's thread. By clicking on your name, I was able to find this new thread easily. When I logged in to check an auto delivery of DH's vitamins, I checked my subscription list for new posts and saw the old shoekitty thread had disappeared. This post of mine should put this new thread in my subscription list. Twitter must take a lot of server space for so many threads to just go poof. I did learn from another poster that servers have a finite capacity. During these tough economic times Q might have been reluctant to make the investment in a larger server, and instead might have decided to make more space on the one they have at present by thinning out the threads already present on the server. Anybody else got any other ideas about what is going on with all the poofing?

I agree with you, surf. Of course, posters hitting 'advise' on threads when they have nothing better to do, could also contribute to the poofing. ...hope you're having a good morning!

We're still here and that is a good thing. I'm more rested today and not so punchie. How is the cooking coming along gloriajean? For a while at least I'm assuming the family will eat better than before. That's what would happen here then I would slack off. My mind and body only goes in high gear for a short while then short circuit. It is raining and gloomy here today but still warm. I guess it is going down about thirty degrees by seven pm. Mixed snow and rain after that. I hope by Tuesday the weather will settle down a bit. I hate to ride during a storm especially after anesthetic! Everyone have a great day and enjoy. lm

I went back and read everything again. Poodlepet-I am hand knitting a sweater cape. I found the instructions on the Bernet website. It is supposed to be made with rag yarn, however, I am using a Vanna's Choice worsted weight and making a larger size to accommodate for the thinner yarn. The color I chose that I already had was pea green. It is quite pretty and will be good for Spring. I have never knitted on a machine. Years ago I thought I wanted one, a friend had one and didn't have very good luck. When is the Crochet and knit program on PBS? There is a nice granny square pattern throw on the band of wool ease Lion Brand yarn. I made one for each of our daughters for Christmas. I crocheted it together then did a four row border (not in the pattern-I wanted it larger). One in each color used for the granny squares. They turned out beautiful. I had a lot of scrap yarns and I donated them to someone who makes mittens and hats for their church. It takes so much space to store extra yarn. Nice to know we have another knitter and crocheter among us. lm

Hey everyone! So glad to see the thread resurrected I wouldn't be surprised that the forum software they use has been programmed to delete threads of a certain size automatically... would be easy to do, and it would surprise me that the Q's IT dept. would devote much personnel time to going through the forums and deleting by hand... unless, of course, they get some sort of complaint and/or someone reports someone for some perceived issue. Just my opinion on the deletions..... Anyway, we're getting ready for a visit this weekend from my step-son and his wife. I've got the usual chores to do today plus some shopping as they tend to be pretty big eaters I made the bread that itsworthalook posted on the "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes" thread, and loved it! It truly did only take about 5 minutes to made and was scrumptious. I followed her directions for baking instead of those posted with the recipe and it came out really good. If anyone's interested in some yummy, crusty, chewy bread that's quick and easy (no-knead), I'd recommend you try it. Am off to see the wizard of briskets! Hehe.... want to smoke one this weekend while the kids are here and send them home with some. Gotta run, but will try to check back later today to see how gloriajean's cookware is performing, if poodlepet is feeling a little more perkey, if shoekitty's entryway is tiled, and to catch up on Humphrey's adventures Take care, ttyl. suz. -- There is no spoon...

Island, surfie, littlemac and Suzanne I agree about the server. It seems when they got twitter, the posts are going everyday. And believe me a couple were the most harmless of posts. Talking about college? Well that was a shock it poofed. It had reached 100 posts. I think they are clearing space. I used to go back to 2006 to get recipes. Just did it at Thanksgiving. But everything is gone now. That bread seems amazing. Worth a try. Suzanne have fun with your guests! Littlemac remind me when the surgery comes up. Got my KING CAKE. Yum, excuse me while I dab the praline filling from the corners of my mouth! It came kind of squashed, but tasted great. They could have packed it better. But it was uber fresh, and I love the filling. Just enough, not overkill! Poodle and Lakechar, I got Gambinos -- Shoekitty's the name Shoes are my game!
