I am always the person in our office who remembers ahead of time that we need to get a Xmas gift for our bosses (we have 2) but I am running out of creative ideas and no one else can ever think of something besides gift cards (boring!). Any good ideas for something that's not associated with a specific hobby?

Aside from buying things for his golfing hobby, here are some things we have given our boss in the past: A small coffee pot for his office and a mixture of flavored coffees, creamers, etc. A fruit basket with some candies. A cheese, cracker and sausage basket. We have bought some office desk toys as a joke. A basket full of snacks. Hope there was at least one idea for you. -- Edited by Starrynights at 10/26/2008 8:28 PM PDT

Depending on how many people are chipping in for the gift, how about a GPS system? I know QVC has a ton of them on this website.. And they've come down in price a lot so if there's a big group of you, it may reasonable. I think fruit arrangements, not the kind that are just apples and bananas in a basket, but the ones that are carved pretty to look like something (Not sure if I can mention the name, so I won't).. But if you know what I'm talking about, this could be a cool gift because its pretty, healthy, and it's different from the typical cookie tin, box of candies, etc. Personalized things are always nice too.. Personalized wine bottles, money clips, holiday ornaments, coasters, etc. I know you're not fond of gift cards, but maybe to a fun or interesting restaurant? This way they can share it with their spouse/friend and they get to make a night of the gift. Hope this helps. Happy Shopping.
