Does anybody want to do this diet with me? It's in this week's Woman's World magazine, looks easy, inexpensive, and looks like I won't be starving. We can tweak it a bit for the snack part, maybe do a Lessman shake with fruit or something. The cover is white and says extreme weight watchers! Lose 9 lbs this week on America's safest diet (but the article says 1-2 pounds is more likely). Also says: Super-losers share their secrets: Kathy lost 165 lbs., Suzanne lots 173 lbs, Ann lost 200 lbs. And I need to lose 30 lbs fast, plan to do this diet along with exercise, if anyone wants to be a diet buddy, let me know.

Weight Watchers is a great way of living...I have been on it on and off for about 2 years. They have a great bulletin board too. Go to the site and near the top there is a community button, that will get you into the boards. The newbies and recipe groups are great. Go for it!!

I'm game...I will get the magazine today and read up on it-just to make sure I can do it! I've been wanting to take off a few pounds and this might be the jump start I need. I'll check back in this evening as well. Thank you for the info!

Yes...I've heard very good things about WW and apparently I need some structure. I've been trying for a loooong time to just eat less and move more, and that's not really working too well. Turns out I gained 6 more pounds since last year!

Chances of you losing 9 lbs in one week with only needing(wanting) to lose 30 in total are very slim I am a Weight Watcher member for a few years and have lost 65 lbs. I know I need the structure and the accountability of a meeting every week. If you are really serious about it.. and that is where every diet starts... then you should check out one of their meetings. Good luck

best10buddy, I love WW and I've done it before with the meetings, but I just can't commit to the time restraints right now, but feel free all who are doing other WW programs or other programs in general to join in the thread. I know there are is another really good fitness thread going too. I'm sure the 9 lb was lost only by someone who had a lot to lose to begin with. Congrats on your loss of 65 lbs!! that is awesome!! Anyway, I will go to the grocery store tomorrow and get the ingredients and start on the diet by Tuesday hopefully. What I liked about this article in WW was that it was so simple. I don't know though, it didn't give much variety. Lack of variety doesn't really bother me because I eat a lot of the same foods day in and day out, but we'll see what we do if we all get bored with it. I don't have the magazine in front of me, but I remember that one of the options for breakfast was 1 egg plus 2 egg whites and tomatoes and spinach. I'm wondering if I can use frozen spinach instead of fresh? I'm wary of fresh spinach. Then for lunch I liked the option of 3 oz tuna with low cal mayo and onions and celery and whole wheat crackers, not sure which brand of crackers to buy, maybe WASA crackers? I'll check the calorie count at the store. I have some English muffins in the fridge that are approx. 100 cal so I'll see maybe I can use those up in place of the crackers in the beginning. Dinner was very easy because we can buy a frozen meal so that will give variety!

I'm going to type out the menu below for those who don't have the magazine. I encourage anyone to get the magazine because it has the background and tips, called Super Loser Secrets: For instance: Full-plate trick, A morning fiber boost, Frozen meal trick, Surprise stress reducer, Six small meals a day, Cutting Edge protein secrets, a key "off" button, Smart Walking, etc. I haven't even read those yet, but I just read the menu so far and really want something that is no brainer and will fit in my hectic life. Here's the menu, unfortunately it doesn't have the calorie counts, so we can check them at calories dot net and put them here in case we want to tweak it to make substitutions that are similar calorically; Here we go: Lose to the max Weight Watchers menus! Created with help from the Weight Watchers nutrition team and super-losers, these menus average about 1,350 calories, or 24 "points" per day. Drink unlimited water and zero-calorie beverages; add low-cal extras (vinegar, spices) in moderation. Breakfast: choose one daily: 1 egg and 3 egg whites cooked in 1 tsp. olive oil, 1/2 oz part-skim mozzarella 2 cups baby spinach, 1 sliced tomato, fresh basil and lemon, to taste OR 1 packet flavored oatmeal, 1/4 cup fat-free plain yogurt, 1 T chopped walnuts

I just started WW with my DH. In three weeks I've lost 8 of my 30 pnds I want to lose. My DH has lost 15 pnds in 3 weeks! This is a great plan and easy to follow! This site is a good help if you are not going to WW to get the complete guide -- Edited by becky2591 at 03/02/2008 5:41 PM -- Edited by becky2591 at 03/05/2008 8:46 PM

Okay! Yay! I was going to say, we can also make it flexible, anybody who has events or constraints could do this diet 5 days a week only or however it works out better for them. Two things that will be in our favor, as per the diet experts, are having diet buddies, and writing down what we eat! Let's have fun with it, write down our daily progress, ideas, etc. I may get a head start tomorrow morning, weigh myself (but I'm NOT TELLING you what the scale says, too embarrassed) and eat the breakfast of eggs/tomatoes. I have those on hand already. For the lunch options, I may have to make a trip to the grocery store.
