Dr. Perricone skin products and rosacea

Does anyone here have Rosacea and use Dr. Perricone's products or have tried it? If so what do you recommend. He mentions Ester C in Perricone Prescription a little bit for one patient with Rosacea.. Is this good to use?

Hi Ally, I posted a reply in beauty Delimas so I'll repost my reply here to help keep you near the top for answers...

I don't use Perricone, but I believe my Nouveau is very close. I have seen Nouveau help rosacea, so I really think Perricone will too. Here's some pictures of Nouveau results, I met the man in the second picture. His results are amazing!

Hi,

I have some of Dr. Perricone's products but haven't had the Vitamin C restorative cream (night product) for a long time. If I were you I would check all of the ingredients in that cream to make sure that one did not have alpha lipoic acid in it. I just read Dr. Baumann's book "The Skin Type Solution" and she strongly cautions people with rosacea to avoid that specific ingredient in any skincare because it is inflammatory to rosacea. She doesn't "push" one specific line of skin care. As I said, I use some of his products and I have found a lot of helpful information on Delphi Forums. Some women from this beauty board started a forum over there called "Perrigirls" and it is solely about Dr. Perricone's products. HTH!! :)

Before you try any of Dr. Perricone's product, I just want to warn you that many of his treatment products really stink! Yes, stink. But they work well for the skin. I just can't stand the smell. Yike! Do some research on the products you are interesting in before you buy them. I am sure they are many products that will work for your skin. You don't have to sacrifice your scent for a product that works. I hope they will eventually add something that smells okay or good in his products.

That's odd since he suggested the alpha lipoic acid/vitamin ester c to the girl with rosacea. hmm.

Anyone else try his products and have rosacea?

I have rosacea and have tried Dr. P.'s stuff.
It made my skin worse, as most everything does.
Just had a small glass of white wine...now I look like a ripe tomato and can feel the heat!
I'm a L'Athene lover. Great products for my skin, but we are all different. There is alot of knowledge on these boards.
Good Luck. You can find great insight here!

re roseace" the only thing can on useon my skin (I have roseca) is Isomers pne for face. I wash my face with purity and I can HONESTLY say that once I starting on that course, my roseca started to go away. Once find something that works, I stivk with it. I'm not a fan of Isomers cleansers, but their serums.creams are second to none. Good luck.

I bought the TSV in August. I have mild rosacea, but I think it makes me redder, more irritated. I also really don't like that he doesn't list ingredients. I like the cleanser and the eye treatment that came with it.

I've got rosacea, and have had great results with the Eucerin Redness Relief line available from some drugstores or drugstore.com. The cleanser and night cream are especially wonderful. The moisture lotion has a green tint (good for canceling red tone), but it has sunscreen and irritated my skin.
My dermatologist told me to avoid ALA, Vit C, Retinols, any fruit acids and exfoliators--well, that means 90% of what's out there for aging skin! I have found that the Eucerin night cream followed by the BE night minerals works fabulously for me. They both calm my skin, and I wake up in the morning to pale, even-toned, calm and comfortable skin. I also need firming along the jawline, and find that these products make a big difference. Sometimes, my face feels so good that I don't even wash it again in the morning--just blot any surface oils before putting on my BE make-up.

For exfoliating, I use the Eucerin gel cleanser with a mesh cleansing puff. BE blemish on my nose has totally gotten rid off blackheads.

I tried the TSV with the Advanced Friming Activator. At first, I was pleased with the results, but as I continued to use it on an ongoing basis, my skin would not stop peeling. If I stopped the Dr P, the peeling stopped, then started up again when I used the cleanser and/or the AFFA. The peeling lasted for over a month, then my skin started to feel irritated and raw, anything that I put on it stung, even Cetaphil cleanser. So I gave up on the kit, too late to return it.

Now my skincare is a Wei East creamy cleanser (I have two), Wei East Youth Recaptured Serum in the am, Green Cream every other night, and Ole Henriksen's Nurture Me cream in the day and Express the Truth at night. I do use Dr Denese's Day Cream over Ole's cream. I have a few of Dr D's pads, the new ones, but they make my face very red for about 30 minutes.

I have read in Baumann's book and other places that Vit C is not the best choice for rosacea. Maybe since his is Ester C it would not be as harsh, but ultimately my experience was that the Dr P regimen was too harsh for my sensitive, rosacea prone skin.

Dr. P's products caused a terrible rosacea flare for me each time I tried them. I can use them initially for about a week, then my skin gets really red, inflamed, and bumpy. I tried several different times because I kept hearing good things about the line, but it just makes my skin look terrible.

I have since discovered that any type of vitamin c causes my skin to turn beet red.
