Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

@bopper  My favorite flower.  So pretty!

No Spring here.  The woods and the mulch are still very brown although we are warming up.  We are actually hugging the 70s today (I'm sorry)  but a cold front is coming in so I don't think it will last.  I'll let you know the first green I see although I'm good with still not mowing the lawn.  I never miss that!

Very stressful day, packer left front door open and we didn't know it....our cat got out.  She was gone for hours.  At the time, we didn't know if she was hiding in the house, taped up in a box, or outside.  We looked all over for her...I walked and drove the neighborhood a few times...tore apart furniture.  Finally DH finally found her in the neighbor's yard not too long ago.

Laura, it is like Spring here but we have colder temps coming again too....and looks like snow where we're going.  As long as it doesn't rain, I don't care if it's 20 below and 20 inches of snow...don't want everything wet when they're loading it, that's the worse!

nomelss...I want to sit there too.  I need it after today...wouldn't get up!

bopper...sorry about car.   Good thing you're a self-professed home-body!  I'm not so it drives me crazy being without a car, especially when I had all those specialists appt's and had to drive dh to work every morning(when he wasn't deployed) or run up and pick it up...I had something going almost every single day.  Hopefully it's an inexpensive and easy fix..and your insurance covers the tow.  Your charge is going to miss you!

Seamaiden....hope that's how you spell it.  DH calles me a Fitbit-Flunkie because I rarely remember to wear mine...lol!  I always get over 10K though, I wear it more for distance for new routes so I don't have to do the same ones every day.  I wish I would have had it on today, I know I'm over 30K and probalby 40 x's up and down the stairs. Boy, you've had some set-backs too!!  Glad you're getting stronger!

I better get back to the house(took animals to Lodge and unloaded all our suitcases and stuff and set them up), they(packers) said they'd be finished around 5.  They'll load everything tomorrow on the big moving truck...will take a few hours.  Waiting to hear on house, hope they hurry up and answer us so I can do a Change of Address to that address.  And I still have to vote...was supposed to do that this morning before the cat got lost.  Ugh, what a nightmare!

Laura, your first post today (paragraph2, sentence 2) made me LOL.  So did your mulch story.  They must have had extra pennies.

Seamaiden, so many surgeries.  Good for you for taking control now that you're healed and getting strong again. Good job!

Oh, Bopper, I'm so sorry about the car.  Bummer.  Spring isn't here yet either.  We're not as cold as you, but it's cold.

Patty/Lucy (for those who don't don't know that Lucy has always been known to us as Patty), thank goodness you found kitty.  Darn those movers!  Glad it's a happy ending.  It sounds like chaos there, but you're getting through it.  Each day gone is one more day closer to the time when you'll be settled into a new place again.  Hang in there.  Lots of good wishes that tomorrow goes smoothly, with few surprises.  Hugs.

Hi everyone just breezing in for a minute to make sure you are all okay and to send Patty a little note and to tell her if she makes it through this move it is going to be what I call a miracle. I can just see you running around trying to find your cat and wondering if it was in one of the boxes. I think when you get settled you need a vacation were you can just sit and relax with your legs proped up. Maybe you could enjoy a nice drink that would just let you drift of to la la land. Everyone take care and keep those bodies of your in motion except for " the one" who running herself into the ground being super lady. By the way glad your son is doing better still have many people rolling our rosary beads for him.   Bopper sorry about your car giving you trouble just want to tell you I have you beat on the car age mine is a 1994 Buick with less then 74000 miles on it. I take such good care of it it is like show room condition. Everyone tells me to get a new car and I really don't want to get rid of this one and besides everyone wants this car if I get a new one. Hope you get yours fixed soon.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy  So glad you found your cat!  I would have been a wreck.  I hope you get settled soon.  Heart

@bopper  Glad I gave you a laugh.  It helps to have a sense of humor in life although I really wasn't kidding yesterday.  My co-workers are stepping lightly around me now.  I hope your car gets better or you find a new one.  I finally gave up my 14 year old car about a year and half ago after I was about broke even between equity and repair and I cried.  It may be stupid but I got attached plus I still can't figure out all the new electronics on the new one.

I came home to a surprise gift from QVC yesterday.  My Lo Bak arrived 3/1 not 3/8 as expected.  And I thought I was bad at math.  It was a leap day QVC not leap week.  Tried it out and I will tell you you need some upper body strength to push it down.  With a bad shoulder, that took some doing but it does stretch you out.  The first go round I really did feel stretched.  Not so much the next couple of times but hopefully that meant I got it good the first time.  It says to do it daily for three weeks so we shall.  Smiley Happy

I did not take any ibuprofen last night to get through the night since it's not really helping anymore and I know you're not supposed to be on NSAIDs very long.  I slept okay and wasn't in tears waking up so a bit of progress.  I am daring to say between Backjoy and now the Lo Bak, I do feel a smidge better at night but we'll see.  I think stopping some of my other classes like Pound and substituting Bodygym for one Power class is also helping.  I will be so glad when this is over!

I think I am going to order my Fitbit ONE today.  I thought long and hard about the Garmin yesterday but it's ugly and I'm not sure it's worth the extra money just for the HR feature.  If I like the ONE and use it, then I may upgrade at some point to another one.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Good Morning Ladies!  Today I am taking my one day off from my usual 45 minute daily walk. Need to go shopping to stock up on essentials for the next week and will be doing a lot of extra walking( Costco etc...) I rarely get all dressed an go out anymore now that I am retired.. tend to just stay home more and more. To actually get in the car and go somewhere is like a big ordeal to me. LOL!

@bopper  I totally understand those darn car breakdowns! We just bought a new 2016 Kia Soronto SUV to replace my husbands 1998 vehicle... had no option as to repair it his old car would have been $4000... My car is a 2000 van. I hardly use it so it is good for now.  I feel good hubby has a safe dependable car to drive on the freeways to work. Traffic here is unbearable!

@Laura14  yes... our new car has so many bells and whistles it scares me to drive it! My hubby made me take it out for a test drive on Sunday... I was a nervous wreck. Give me the plain ol car that just drives without extra electronics!! I do not know if I will ever figure out the new car. it turns on with just a button, no key... really?

laura14   I totally understand your back pain issue. I have upper back and neck arthritis and have pain 24 hours a day like you . No more surgery for me!  I have decided to just deal with it after all my other joint surgeries... I do take a combination of chinese herbs for pain that I think seem to help.. try to not take anything else except Tylenol maybe once a day on my "bad days".  I do think maybe  trying other forms of exercise that are less jarring may be beneficial to you as you do not want to be adding to the problem with stressing your back more.

@nomless  Thank-you for the well wishes!... I am glad I had the joint surgeries as I was on crutches prior to them and now walk so much better!  Artificial joints are not as good as a real healthy joint, but, they do give you your life back if your real joints deteriorate as mine did( genetics?)

@Iluvlucy  I have come to love myFitBit Charge. It vibrates when I hit the 10,000 step. When I first got it I did not know what the tingle was from and thought it was my nerves going crazy! Now I look forward to that feeling.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Hi, I am so late here, almost forgot entirely.   I was up early to feed the dog I am taking care of up the road, then groceries, then put them away, did the bike, went back to see the dog and it was so hot in the room he is in I felt terrible for him.  It was 77 in the room and the heat wasn't on.   It's because of the sun beating in the windows and the door shut.   I opened the windows in there and put the dog out in the yard, he laid on the snow to cool off.  Poor thing.   Then I brought him in, left the windows opened and came home.  I had lunch and then walked Logan on the trail, then went back and got the other dog and walked him and gave him some pets....just seems like a busy day for me,, and I say for me as most of you are much busier than I am.

Laura I hope the back things do help.  That relax back thing I am interested in too to stretch my hip flexors.

Patty so glad you found the cat, how scary!  Hope everything settles down for you all soon and you get in your house.

Our car is in the shop, hoping it won't be a fortune.

Well making this short, bedtime for me.

Be well everyone!
