Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Did my first hike in weeks.   Got my 8 miles in and finally ran into one of the horses along the equestrian trail.  Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!  I'll be stretching and icing the rest of the day.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Morning, I thought I'd take a day off.  Been over 3 weeks so i'm going through recipes and just doing stuff inside.  It's only in the 30's here so I am very envious of those of you who are actually outside enjoying your warmer temps...I'm not saying you can't be outside but not very enjoyable...I mean 30's now!  Our normal for us way up North here is 50,,so just sayin.

Laura hike sounds wonderful!   Are you a horseback rider?  My sister has a horse and he's a big boy!  She needs a block to stand on to get on him.  She enjoys riding but only does the English style and boards him at a farm.

I just made some zoodles and some pesto sauce for lunch.  Really stepping out of my comfort zone with the food, I am not a veggi person and am trying so hard.  I got a cheapo  veggeti maker at Walmart but its working fine.  Hubby isn't crazy about this new "turn" of mine!

Tomorrow all rain and not a warm one either, so will be indoors tomorrow.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone.  Well I was reminded yesterday that it takes a while for a broken heart to heal - thought I was doing so well and was hit upside the head yesterday, so to speak.  Took the breath right out of me.  Today has been a really tough day for me.   Didn't workout was just too exhausted physically and emotionally to get it together.  I did, however, spend the afternoon making cookies.  I like to bake and I need to keep busy and didn't feel like cleaning house.  So, will give some to the neighbor family across the street and take the rest to work on Monday.  Have another batch of cookies I want to make tomorrow - made 2 batches today - but will see how I feel.  Tomorrow will be my regular rest day and I think I need it.  Right now I'm just trying to get through the day minute by minute and will take care of tomorrow when it arrives.

Hope everyone is doing well.

[ Edited ]

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!  Back in the 30's again this morning but better than the humid day we had, I'm not a fan....supposed to warm up to 73* and be a nice day. Haven't really had one for a couple of days but we sure had some beautiful weather early in the week so I'm not complaining.

Sorry you had a rough day Judy...old feelings sure seem to live right under the surface and rear their ugly heads from time to time.

bopper...that sounds good, I love stuff like that.  I have the spirowhateveritis...lol...I'm sure they're all the same.

nomless...glad you're feeling better and you got your hair did. Smiley Wink

Laura...good job on the hike!  As my gf says, I love me some Vitamin N(nature)...can't beat it!

We got some in yesterday even though it was raining when we started out.  It was clearing up while we were hiking so went back and got the bikes.  Oh...Judy, the WOD is either the Work Out of the Day....or if I'm talking about our bikes, W&OD trail is a famous Railroad track they've made into a biking/running path.  Washington and Old Dominion.  We used to bike it when we lived here before and it's what dh would use to ride into work.

Speaking of that...you all remember the terrible bike fall I took about 3 years ago I guess, when we lived up this way last time?  It was at the end of a hilly 33-miler in 100+* weather...not pleasant at all, just wanting to get home, and BAM...someone pulled out in front of me.  I had knocked my front teeth and remember I said one chipped a little.  Well, the one broke this week...just busted right off.  So I spent Thursday morning at the dentist, she fixed both of them.  I needed a crown but wasn't in the mood...she said it won't last but I'll take my chances.  I had another appt that day anyway with a new specialist...see if I can get off these steroids.

Today we need to wash the vehicles and we're going to Great Falls.  I see patches of yellow all over the blacktop this morning where the rain washed the pollen that is giving everyone fits.  Okay, have a great day everyone, think I'm going to do some weights while dh sleeps in.  He had a hectic trip this week...his schedule was packed!  Oh...the kids go to Europe on Tuesday so I get to see them for a couple of hours!  We are keeping the dogs.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Bopper, I hope you enjoyed your rest day.

Judy, I hope you're feeling more upbeat today.

Lucy, I'm so sorry about your tooth.  Bummer for sure.

Laura, I hope your back is felling stronger.

Hi to Pilates and all our friends.

Cardio done.  I'll spend the rest of the day cooking stuff for lunch during the week and laundry and other chores.  A catch-up day.  I hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Did a little and I mean a little Bodygym.  Supposed to have a swim party at my sister's place later but it's only in the 70s so we'll see if the new bathing suit gets a maiden run.

@bopper  I used to ride all the time when I lived in TN but there's no opportunity here in GA so not in while.  Private people can bring their horses on the wood trails at the park.

@JudyL  I am so sorry.  I hope your weekend got better and you remember that you are just fine until the real Prince comes along.  And I love to bake too but only when my nieces and nephew are around to eat it.  In fact, I made brownies today for the party.

@Iluvlucy  I am so jealous of your trails.  I shouldn't complain but your new place sounds lovely!

@nomless  I wish I had your discipline.  I should have done all of that and I did do some spring cleaning and changed my bathroom over to Spring linens so I guess it wasn't all bad.

I also got a new fish.  My other one died about a month ago and I finally decided to get another.  We'll see how well he does.  Right now, he's very interested in the aquarium wall.  Whatever floats your boat...Smiley Very Happy

Hope everyone has a a great Sunday!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Enjoy your new fish, Laura.  I once had an aquarium, and I loved it. Now, not so willing to do all the maintenance it requires.  It was so soothing to watch the fish.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!

Laura - congrats on the fish.  My DD and SIL have one and it is so peaceful to watch it.

Lucy - sorry to hear about your tooth  Ouch!

I'm doing better.  Sometimes life throws us curves and one just has to roll with it for a couple of days.  Things do get better.

Didn't workout at all this weekend but will get back on track tomorrow.  Have a good night!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Did my first Ride class in weeks this morning.  Thinking about Pound tomorrow.  We'll see how the night goes.  Right now I'm off of all meds and icy hot patches but wake up in some pain towards the early morning hours so definitely still healing.

Hope everyone is off to a good week!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Morning all, once again it's only in the 30's here and raining...I mean all weekend!  The rest of the week they said 40's, still well below normal for us even.

I did the Xbike and the Bodygym this morning and abs on the Total Gym.

Not much else happening here, glad to see all the posts and all the variety out there.  Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather is better today.

Have a great day everyone!
