Re: Dental care: Childhood vs Senior routines.

Oh my gosh, I do my dental routine every night. I have an extremely dry mouth that puts me at risk for decay. I brush, floss, take dry mouth mouthwash, then brush on prescription fluoride. Then I add a dental mouth guard for teeth grinding and a chin strap to keep my mouth closed, so my teeth and gums don't dry out. It is quite a site, but my teeth are in really good shape and I am 65.

Yeah, I get it...I hate dental work, so I also have a strict routine too, brush with OralB, floss, Act rinse. Teeth cleaned 2x/ yr. Occasionally, I let the floss go if I'm tired-
But still I recently had a tooth slowly go bad anyway - and I needed a root canal and new crown.

Hey, it's micro-damage over a lifetime. Just try your best, and no peanut brittle, lol!  Seriously, I never eat super hard food- it's a tooth cracker! No promises, unfortunately..! 💝

Re: Dental care: Childhood vs Senior routines.

I'm lucky with my teeth ( no braces needed, only 2 crowns, removed all 4 wisdom teeth; dentist just said that unless I have an accident I'm good for life). I turn 80 in Dec. I brush twice a day and use a Butler tool: that's it!

Re: Dental care: Childhood vs Senior routines.

I'm in my 70's. I spend about five minutes a day on my dental care. My dentist said my gums are very healthy and that I have outstanding oral hygeine.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.
