People get offended about everything. So tired of it. It's just an expression and we're way past slavery, which occurred in many countries not just ours.

Except for human trafficking which we are not past & is a form of slavery.

@misschristy, I'm ambivalent about how offensive or not offensive the expression was. But I will never, ever minimize the period of slavery in our country. I don't give a hoot that it existed elsewhere. It is a disgusting part of our history that should never be forgotten.

No, it's not "slave labor,". However, I would not take the comment literally and I certainly don't find it to be an insensitive or offensive comment.

The host was inappropriate.
