I just re-watched this and found it even more inspiring.  Not the romance portions, although those were great, but just the complete friendship, food, life, enjoyment, neighbors, renovation, fulfillment, and all the rest that the movie (more than the book, I think) brings out.

Re: Under the Tuscan Sun movie

I found that I was watching it every time I saw it on the tv schedule, so I just went ahead & bought the DVD so I can watch it any time, without commercials.  Don't you think that her refurbishing that beautiful home was a metaphor about how any of us can put things back together, & sometimes better than before, when our lives seemed to have crumbled?

It made me very happy.  And I just pulled it at random from my DVD collection.  I think it needed to be watched!

I did not find this in the least bit depressing.

I very much enjoyed the movie.  Diane L is fabulous and was stunning in this movie.
