I just read that Patty Duke has passed away.

She was such a great actress. I loved her in Valley of the Dolls.

I just read that too, so sad, only 69, she was a great actress, loved her in Helen Keller, and the Patty Duke show on TV, may she RIP!

The Helen Keller movie (Patti the little girl) was one of my favorites..watched it over and over!  Years ago, Helen

Keller stayed at the house of my BF's mother. Too many years to remember the circumstances, but they had a beautiful, engraved silver plate thanking them for their hospitality!!

This is just breaking my heart!  I'm not sure, although I have an idea, why this has hit me so very hard.

@chickenbutt----Are you 69 or 70?  That's why it hits me hard.  She was an actress that really gave me hope I could be an actress. My age, my dreams.  Sincerest Sympathy to her family

I always liked her and her tv show, which I watched as a kid in the 60s.   So young and so sad.

Me too. Patty Duke was a brillant actress. For all her success she had a hard childhood and she suffered from bi-polar disorder.

I still remember watching "The Patty Duke Show" every week as a young girl.

May she rest in peace.

I just read Sean Astin is her son.  Didn't know that.  May she RIP.
