Won't be watching either

Lin-Manuel Miranda will be an EGOT if he wins for Moana. He would be the youngest to ever achieve it, at 37. And will have achieved it the fastest if he does.
He won his first Tony in 2008 and has one Emmy, two Grammy Awards, and three Tony Awards. He won the Emmy for cowriting the opening number of the 2013 Tony Awards. Won the Grammy Awards for the albums for In The Heights and Hamilton.

I no longer watch it. I am tired of their boring and fake speeches thanking eachother and their political opinions. My time is much more valuable to waste it on them.
That said, I hope those who watch enjoy the show.
Now, what i would watch is a similar program to honor those who risk or enhance our lives each day, such as military, police officers, firefighters, EMT, teachers, etc. Give them the red carpet treatment!!!!!
Have a great day.

Have you ever watched the "Heroes" program on CNN? I enjoy watching everyday celebrities receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

i have not seen ANY of the movies nominated because i generally do not go to the movies anymore. i wait until it reaches on demand, netflix, or hulu.
i do generally enjoy the show though......the fashion, the speeches, the movie clips, the music, the comedy, and the in memoriam. it gives me an idea of what i might want to watch in the future.

Thank you deepwaterdotter.

I've seen some of the movies. I didn't love La La Land, and it looks like it will win. I think Manchester and Fences and Lion were all better movies. Denzel SHOULD win. I doubt he does. I think Casey A. was great, but Denzel was better. I think Casey A will win.
Viola Davis was phenomenal and should win.

@qvcaddition wrote:First year I will not watch in at lest 60 years. Too political. Not so much speeches, but Scully or Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson should have gotten a nomination unless I read wrong. HACKSAW RIDGE TRUE AND SCULLY.
Hollywood very unforgiving.
I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to, but Tom Hanks and Amy Adams were both erroneously included on the list posted by the Oscars online. They have both now been removed.
I haven't seen their movies, so I can't comment on their exclusion verses others inclusion (even though I have an opinion that is poof worthy.)

I will not be watching ~ I enjoy the pre-show for the fashion, but have had enough of the political views given during an entertainment awards show.
I usually tear up during the "In Memoriam" ~ always a lovely tribute : (
To those looking forward to the event ~ please enjoy!
