I watched this last night. It is about Herman J. Mankiewicz, fabled screenwriter of 30's and 40's Hollywood, how he wrote "Citizen Kane". It has a superb cast Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Charles Dance, Tom Burke (as Welles was exceptional), etc. The movie was filmed in black and white, "1930's Hollywood is reevaluated through the eyes of scathing wit and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he finishes "Citizen Kane", ( I was under the impression Welles wrote the script). I feel the need to make aware of films and series some of you might be interested in. Do I recommend this, I don't know, I don't think I liked it that much, although it did hold my attention. I can't tell someone what they will or won't like, that's is a decision you must make.

I started watching it but it couldn't keep my interest, but I plan on going back to finish it.

I am assuming this man is in the family with TCM's Ben Mankiewicz, probably a great, great uncle.
