Happy 96th Birthday to Montgomery Clift!! Born Oct 17, 1920.
Does anyone remember his handsome face?
He died in 1966 at the young age of 45.
He made 17 movies--some are "From Here to Eternity", "A Place in the Sun", "The Search", "The Big Lift", "Freud","Red River"--to name a few.
I am a BIG fan (can you tell?)----and I hope he is never forgotten!!
May his memory always be loved and cherished!!!!

They don't make them like that anymore. I miss the days when they really could act. I guess that why I enjoy watching old movies.

I like him too. I just watched him in "Red River" recently. Good looking and a good actor too.

Ben Mankiewitz on TCM has mentioned that he was very close to Elizabeth Taylor. She was his champion when directors were casting movies. A handsome man and a good actor.

Yes, Monty was very close to Liz Taylor--they were best friends--very close buddies.
I also saw Red River recently--really enjoyed him in that movie.
So glad there are people out there who remember Monty Clift--he was one of a kind--both good and bad (addicted to alcohol, drugs & cigarettes)----such a shame he died so young.
Thank you, all, for your comments--I'm sure Monty would've been fascinated that all these years later, 50 years after his death, that people still watch his movies and cherish his memory.
Again, Happy 96th Birthday Monty--love you--and rest in peace!!

Oh my, I didn't even know he was still alive.
Well, he is one of the great oldies, from the 'Hollywood days'.

Oops! Thanks, Mousiegirl! I just figured he must still be alive and I'm not keeping up that well anymore. But I kind of figure that you don't keep having birthdays after you die as a general rule. hehe
