I love Downton Abbey but I know I will be very sad and disappointed when it ends. It's just such a a fine production. We just don't make series like this in the US. Its quality, intelligence, and beauty are very much appreciated here. It shows that American audiences want to watch quality programs. Most of what we get here is anything but.

I also will miss this series. However, I read that Masterpiece has another series in the works which takes place in the twenties in the UK that will be airing after DA is over. Look forward to the costumes, settings and great acting!

I've never watched it, but looked at an episode the other night. Want ot know why? My newest Granddaughter, born September 30th this year is named----MARIGOLD. My younger daughter named her after the baby on the show, and Marigold was in that episode.

Add me to the list of those who are sad that this series is ending. There are so few really good TV programs available but I read somewhere that Fellowes is producing another blockbuster. And I was in a store yesterday and saw a little book, "Wisdom and Wit of Downton Abbey" that is a collection of quotes from the series that I would like and have added it to my Christmas wish list, along with about 5 other books. My kids never know what to get me so there you are, kids!
