I've always pictured Meemaw as Betty White. I think she would have been great.

Amy's agreement with her mother was only that she would have at least one date each year. Amy and Sheldon played it like rabbits in heat just to shock the heck out of her. The mother did have several lines, but was not a "name" actress.

Yes, I know. I just wanted to to point out that Amy's agreement with her mother was for a date (not sex) each year, and that Amy's mother did have lines. One of her lines was something like she was go glad to finally "meet" Sheldon because she wasn't sure he existed. When Sheldon talked about their "regular sex" mom looked at her daughter and said "Amy?" with a bewildered look.
