New season starts tonite. Can't wait to see Findlay. Since the first episode was probably filmed around April, he would be about 16 months old. Eivin & Eve just had their second child (a baby girl) but she won't be on the earlier episodes.

I like these shows about people living in very rural areas. Life Below Zero & Mountain Men are two of my favorites.

Re: Alaska: The Last Frontier

This summer I read that someone in the family was charged with violating hunting rules and had to appear in court.  I wonder if they'll mention that?

I hope they'll get more snow this winter.  Every time I checked their live cam last winter, the ground was bare.  As a result, Alaska had some horrible forest fires this summer.

I'm anxious for Life Below Zero to return.  Its my favorite.

All the shows named are on my husband's 'must see' list.  He lives vicariously through this type of programming.

Re: Alaska: The Last Frontier

I recently got into Ice Lake Rebels which is about people living in houseboats on Great Slave Lake in NWT, Canada.  They are near the town of Yellow Knife, which prompted me to do a little research on the place.  Very interesting.  A major area for diamond mining just North of the city with DeBeers being a player.

Re: Alaska: The Last Frontier

Just an interesting bit of trivia, do you know the country singer Jewel? Atz is her father.

I was surprised to read that, although I always knew that Jewel was from AK, I didn't know any connection with this family, when we got interested in this show.

As another poster stated, he did get in some trouble recently. He was charged in August for illegally hunting a black bear during the production of the show.

We watch all of these type shows!

Woah! ya know, I thought that she was singing harmony on the theme song, and I knew she was from Alaska, but never put it together. Thanks for the info...that is cool!

I did too! So when I read this, I thought, "No wonder it sounds like Jewel, it is!"
