Thanks for the heads up.  I love movies from the "Old Hollywood" era better than most of the modern movie making of today.  I have seen some of these, but hopefully,  I can catch or DVR the ones I have never seen.

i get the magazine called "NOW PLAYING" by tcm......it is a great magazine to have handy when you are looking for particular movies or to get some interesting back stories. it comes a couple of weeks before the new month. it has articles on what they are showcasing this month, a column by robert osborne, a column by martin scorcese, the schedule by days and times, an alphabetical movie list, lots of nice old photos, and a crossword puzzle, and a sneak peek of what is coming in the next month. i really enjoy having it handy!

@Iwantcoffee Thanks for posting that.  I remember hearing that some of the best movies (don't remember them) were one's that did not win Oscars.

It would be funny (I'm sure there is a list) to see which one's they are.

Some of the best movies are the old ones.

I believe many on the AFI 100 list are not Oscar winners.

@VaBelle35, I loved watching the annual AFI 100 lists. lol, I know there are really only so many categories available, but I wish they had continued.

I think some of the earliest lists go back between 10-15 years now. Since so many new films have been made since that time, I'm hoping that eventually they'll update these specials.

I really enjoyed watching these specials and I'm surprised that I never seem to see them being rebroadcast on TV again.
