Hobo Lock Handbag - help please

First I must say the navy bag is beautiful! I have had it a couple of weeks, but, oh, my, it is so very heavy! I am not carrying more than I usually do, so obviously it is the added weight of the bag.

I am debating on sending it back. It is so pretty, but I worry I won't use it as much as I thought due to the weight. I cannot afford to spend $300 for a bag that I won't want to use. Any suggestions before I send it back?
