$200,000+ Handbag

The record price of $203,150 bought a handbag at the Heritage Auction in Texas, Dec 10, 2011. The Hermes Birkin bag was made of red crocodile with gold hardware and diamonds. The buyer may have wanted it as an investment. It was sold by a Florida woman who bought it in 2006, then got a black one to replace it. The auction sold 550 handbags, many for over $5,000. All are pictured on the auction site.
