I like raisins ok, but raisins in a savory dish is a turn-off for me.

Raisins and/or Nuts.

I like both raisins and nuts but not cooked in a savory dish.

I can not eat any dairy.  I still read the recipes and usually either leave out the dairy or use a substitute.

I tell you what I won't even consider making.  Recipes with gobs of ingredients or lots of steps.  I want simple!

I stop short at -

  • mayonnaise
  • sour cream
  • buttermilk
  • cream of <whatever> soup
  • cool whip
  • yogurt
  • margarine (well, that one - if the rest is appealing I would just use butter)

Eggs actually gross me out a LOT, but I'll use them in baking - something where it disappears into the recipe.  BUT, I do have to remove that gross white thing in the egg before putting it into the ingredients.  gack!

Hi Chickenbutt,

I don't care for a recipe if it has too much dairy in it or cream-based products in it, as I'm lactose-intolerant. For me, it's cream cheese added into a savory dish, too.

Now I like it used in desserts that are baked, like a coffee cake or a cheese cake or a cookie or brownie, or something like that, but I don't care for it fresh, like on a bagel. The same for sour cream. I like it baked into something, and not fresh on a baked potato.

I also don't care for buttermilk, and I don't really care too much for mayo., either.

I prefer oil and vinegar-type salads over salads with cream-based dressings.

The reason for me too is probably because I had a Mom who was similar to yours, and I was made to eat warm Miracle Whip on my sandwiches as a kid, and she loved Miracle Whip and used it in everything that you could use it for, so I just can't handle mayo. or Miracle Whip very well, even as an older adult.
