i made a 3 lb. eye roast yesterday by seasoning it very well with garlic, salt and pepper. i laid it on a bed of carrots, celery and onion, 1/2 cup water and 2 tblsp. gravy master. put it all in a bag. preheated the oven to 500 and when i put the roast in turned it down to 475. cooked it for 21 minutes (7 minutes per lb.) then turned the oven off for 2 hours.
the roast cooked beautifully, but it was tough and it wasn't seasoned as well as i had hoped it would be.
any tips, suggestions, recipes, etc. for a great pot roast? TIA
