This was really good - I found the recipe on allrecipes and yesterday was the perfect cold day to make this. I'm not a big chili sauce fan but enjoyed this sauce.

3 lb beef brisket, trimmed of fat

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

12 oz beer

12 oz tomato-based chili sauce

3/4 cup packed brown sugar (* I used about 1/3 cup)

Preheat oven to 325. Season brisket with salt and pepper and place in a glass baking dish. Cover with a layer of sliced onions. *I also added some cut up carrots. In a bowl mix together beer, chili sauce and brown sugar. Pour over the roast. Cover the dish tighly with aluminum foil. Bake for 3 hours. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Let the brisket cool slightly and then slice. Return the sliced meat to the baking dish.
