I found this recipe on French's recipe site. This is a dish that I will make again!

Crunchy Layered Taco Salad

1 lb ground beef

2 cans (15-19oz each) black or pinto beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14 1/2 oz) stewed tomatoes, undrained

2 cups French's Original or Cheddar French Fried Onions

1 pkg (1 1/4 oz) taco seasoning mix

6 cups shredded lettuce

1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

Cook beef in a large skillet until browned; about 5 minutes. Drain

Stir in beans, undrained tomatoes, 1 cup onions and taco seasoning mix.

Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened and flavors are blended, stirring often.

Layer beef mixture over lettuce on a platter. Top with remaining cheese and onions.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
